As the author, I took a deep breath and made a decision to bypass every romantic interlude between Arlo and Inara until these two don't make me want to cry in the corner.
After several romantic scenes that I happily skipped, both of them were once again entwined in bed, their bodies covered by sheets, their hands exploring each other.
They were both acutely aware that their actions were not suitable given their circumstances, but the fleeting comfort they found in each other's arms allowed them to momentarily forget their surroundings.
It was as if they were enveloped in an abyss, where only their eyes shone through, reflecting mutual love and trust.
"Listen, you Idiot, at least hear me out about the Life and Death dungeon," Inara implored.
"SMOOCH!"
Arlo silenced her with a sudden kiss, murmuring, "Can we postpone this discussion until after we reach the Atrium district? Right now, I just want to... be here with you."
