No Magic,No Tech,No problem,Just My System's Power

My name is Arlo Templeton. Just a guy trying to live a life where I can forget my past. In a world where mages wield magic to showcase their power and advanced technology commands Cybers robots, hovering cars, and Ray Guns to reign supreme, I am an outsider. It feels like I’ve stopped moving forward while time relentlessly marches on. Hope is a word that can propel us forward or leave us lying down. But in this chaos, hope alone cannot grant someone peace. We need something greater to confront our adversaries. It's as if something hears my pleas, as usual, when I visit the cave to mine Voidstone, surrounded by Cybers. Suddenly, the cave exploded, crushing me to death. But death didn’t come. Instead, I found myself back at that morning. Then, I gained System ability. Now what? Do I live in regret anymore? I've lost too much in my life—my family, my ambition, my peace, my happiness. I’m afraid that if I move forward, I'll lose even more in the future. Will this system save or kill the people I want to protect? [Arlo Templeton - Game Over]

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..."

Arlo found himself plummeting from the sky, enveloped by clouds, the eagle mask given to him by a stranger still adorning his head, albeit sideways.

The wind whipped past him, causing his clothes to flutter wildly. Yet, strangely, his face remained untouched by the breeze; even his hair was undisturbed. He could sense an invisible shield protecting his face.

After a moment of panic, Arlo managed to regain his composure. He scanned his surroundings, trying to get a sense of where he was. There were no buildings or skyscrapers in sight; this was not the Psionic District he was familiar with. Instead, he was greeted by a vast expanse of grasslands stretching as far as the eye could see.

As the ground seemed to rush up to meet him, a horrifying realization dawned on Arlo.

"Oh shit! I'm falling down, goddammit."

In a desperate attempt to change his fate, Arlo began to flail his limbs, as if trying to swim through the air. But as he neared the ground,

"SWOOSH!"

'You've got to be kidding me,'

Arlo muttered under his breath as he found himself once again falling from the sky, back above the verdant lands, surrounded by clouds.

Confused, Arlo opened the system window to check his status, expecting to see that he had died or suffered some sort of damage. But to his surprise, he found no indication of the level difficulty mode or Lives tabs.

"What am I supposed to do in this quest?"

Arlo wondered aloud, his frustration mounting as he continued to fall, only to be teleported back to the sky each time he neared the ground.

Arlo cast a glance over his shoulder, searching for anything out of the ordinary. All he saw was an endless expanse of blue sky. Then he noticed something odd – there was no sun, yet the area was bathed in a bright light, as if he was inside a dome.

After several rounds of teleportation, he tried to survey his surroundings while awkwardly flapping his arms in the sky.

Arlo even managed to pass through the clouds, leaving a giant hole in his wake. After teleporting again, he saw the hole he had created, confirming that he was indeed teleporting within the same area.

"I'm bored. How many hours has it been? What is the purpose of the quest?" Arlo grumbled.

Suddenly, a purple chest materialized on one of the clouds.

"Finally," Arlo exclaimed, a spark of excitement lighting up his eyes at the sight of the chest. He maneuvered through the clouds and landed on the cloud.

Despite their fluffy appearance, the clouds felt solid under his feet. In the middle of the cloud field, Arlo spotted a purple chest, a dark aura emanating from its lock.

Arlo retrieved the sword Ulysses had given him from the system window inventory tab.

During his time in the "Lost Legacy of Yedlin Clan" dungeon, Arlo had learned how to store weapons in his Inventory. To do so, he had to place the weapon on his left wrist, where it would glow for nearly 10 seconds. After that, a prompt would appear:

[New Weapon info has been updated.

Want to store in Inventory?

Yes 2. No]

As he brandished his sword, a prompt appeared:

[New info updated: Ulysses' Wrath]

[Inscription: Ulysses crafted this sword in memory of his son, Ian Ulysses. This sword embodies Ulysses' wrath and love for his son]

[Activation: Blood Sacrifice]

[Consume: Endurance 8 per use

Strength 5 per use

Dexterity 11 per use

HP?]

'A new status for my regular sword. It even bears Ulysses' name. As time passes, it becomes increasingly clear that the system window is neither magic nor advanced technology; it's something else entirely. It can send me back in time, alter the status of my weapon, and adjust level attributes. What exactly is this System Ascent?'

Arlo pondered, though he continued to approach the chest, ready to fight off any monsters that might appear when he opened it.

Arlo extended his hand to caress the ominous aura, the cloud started to quiver. In no time, clusters of clouds began to assemble from every corner.

They gradually took shape, forming white cloud beings with human-like features. They had faces and arms that extended into wings like those of birds, with feathers adorning their heads. Their eyes were a piercing black, and their white cloud fangs and nails were as sharp as steel, lending a subtle yet menacing edge to their otherwise ethereal appearance.

They didn't exude the same intimidation as the Supreme Lion, but Arlo could sense they wouldn't be a walk in the park.

"SCRHHHH..."

The entities emitted a shriek as they fluttered their wings, whipping up the wind.

A new window materialized:

[Quest: The Vengeance of Fallen Constellation]

[Quest Location Identified]

[Updated Challenges: Open Five Chests to complete the Quest]

[Side Quests: ?]

[Dungeon Explored: 20%]

[Reward:?]

Arlo didn't afford them an opportunity to strike. He sprang forward, slicing through them.

[Defeated Common Class Agnes Divines.]

Arlo was startled as he continued to mow them down.

"They are weak. No, I'm strong."

As Arlo cleaved through them, they evaporated in mid-air.

[Defeated Common Class Agnes Divines.]

"HA...HA..."

As more Agnes Divines materialized from the clouds, Arlo relentlessly cut them down, his laughter reverberating through the air as he slashed at them with his sword in his right hand and punched through them with his left fist.

Engrossed in mowing them down, he overlooked the fact that the clouds were gradually diminishing and the platform was thinning out

In his eagerness to perform a high kick, he sprinted towards the chest and leaped onto it. But as soon as he landed on the chest,

The chest sank into the clouds, pulling Arlo down with it. As the surface above the chest on the cloud layer became thinner, it couldn't support Arlo's weight.

The chest and Arlo plunged through the clouds, hurtling towards the ground. As soon as he spotted the chest,

"I have a feeling that the chest won't teleport once it hits the ground. I should have noticed the cloud's density shrinking."

Arlo soared through mid-air towards the chest.
