LUCIANO

"Luce, don't forget to buy some bread while you're at the market!" Delilah yelled from the kitchen as her thirteen year old son ran out of the back door and into the woods

"Yeah, yeah, I got you mum!" Luciano yelled back skipping away happily..

Delilah smiled as she watched him and then went back to washing the dishes.

Luciano and Delilah lived in the woods on the outskirts of the town so their home was quite secluded. As a result, Luciano and his mum always had to walk a long way to get to the town when they needed something. Why they didn't just move into the city, Luciano didn't know and Delilah wouldn't say.

Luciano kicked a rock on the make-shift foot path that had formed from continuous passage with a click of his tongue. It was so late in the evening yet he had to walk nearly a mile just to get some bread and sugar.

The night was getting foggy as the moon shone behind the huge grey clouds. Luciano stared at it as he remembered his friend, Reena's story that was supposedly true. The reason why there was a huge forest right outside Laklow city was because of werewolves that had once terrorised the city. He definitely didn't believe any of that but for some reason, the way the moon shone unusually made him uneasy.

'No use thinking about it' he thought closing his eyes and shaking his head gently. Everywhere was completely covered in dark fog so Luciano didn't know where exactly he was but he wasn't going to stop walking. His sense of direction was spot on.

Opening his eyes, he made eye contact with a pair of gold-yellow ones and his eyes widened while his mouth hung open at the sight.

A beautiful dark haired girl stood stark naked as they stared at each other, Luciano's gaze trailed down and a blush formed at the tips of his ears

"U-uuhm, who-" before he could complete his statement, the moon shone brighter and he watched in shock as she beautiful girl morphed quickly into a 3 feet wolf with beautiful jet black fur. Her golden eyes stared at him fiercely and Luciano heard a soft but sharp voice in his mind

'Keep your mouth shut human'

"Wait-!" Luciano called out but she was gone.

The ground was still foggy so he still didn't know where he was. He wasn't dumb, he knew what he'd seen, but he was definitely shocked. The one thing he'd denied turned out to be real and so bewitching that he was sure he'd never want anyone else.

Luciano stood there in the fog, his sense of direction completely messed up and for the first time, lost.

* * 5 years later * * *

"Happy birthday Luciano!" All of Luciano's friends from school and relatives chorused as he blew out the candles on his lemon citrus cake.

"Thanks everyone" Luciano said with a smile after standing up straight

"Why don't you open your gifts" Delilah said and Luciano glanced at her briefly

"Oh, start with mine!" Pretty blonde Leila exclaimed excitedly. Luciano looked at the pink heart shaped box that was obviously her gift

'It's not even valentines and this is how she wraps a gift' he thought rolling his eyes as he picked up the box wrapped in blue-black wrapping paper as he opened it. Leila stepped back a bit feeling embarrassed as some of Luciano's friends snickered.

'Not my fault she's so clueless' Luciano thought also snickering. The girl had announced him as her boyfriend the second they entered high school and it was very annoying because it wasn't true and some dummies actually believed it. Leila also wouldn't take his warnings seriously because she had his mom's 'blessings'

Luciano smiled at the content and looked up at his best friend

"Thanks Dex" he said. Dexter smiled back waving a hand dismissively

"No biggie bruh" he said.

"Luce open Leila's gift already would you" Delilah scolded

"Nah, I'm good. I already know who I'm gifting it to, don't wanna mess up the wrap" Luciano said as he opened another present.

"Luce!" Delilah exclaimed displeased, Luciano rolled his eyes as he picked the heart shaped box, and opened it. He took out the neck chain with a heart shaped pendant and looked at it once then threw it to one side

"Still giving it out" he said moving on. Delilah wasn't happy but chose not to speak because of all the guests. On the other hand, Luciano sighed in relief. His mom was such a control freak he felt he would snap soon.

At 11:50 the party was already over and most of the guests had left for their homes. Those remaining were all just really good friends of Luciano that wanted to help with the cleaning.

Luciano, being the birthday boy, sat in the kitchen relaxing while his friends worked as he went through his phone looking at various photos and stories posted on iChat about werewolves and other 'dark creatures' by town's folk. They were all photo-shopped but he, more than any other person, was well aware that these unusual existences were real, or was it the human race themselves that were unusual in such a world.

Luciano unconsciously smiled as he recalled the beautiful creature from that night five years ago, even though it had been five years already, he had never stopped thinking about her, plus he was pretty sure he felt her presence quite a number of times. The woman definitely had quite an aura. He even had fantasies were they did unspeakable things, don't get him wrong, at the time he saw her, she appeared way older than him so he wasn't committing paedophilia in his dreams.

"What are you thinking about that makes you smile so much?" Delilah asked as she walked to his front from the sink. Luciano adjusted his expression

"What is it mom?" He asked already feeling annoyed. Delilah stared at him

"You know, if you're not going to be a good boyfriend then you should at least be polite" she said as she walked back to the sink to resume cleaning the dishes

"Hmm, girlfriend? What do you mean mom?" Luciano asked feigning ignorance as he went back to scrolling through his phone

"I mean you should stop acting weird to your girlfriend" Delilah said

"And who exactly is that?" He asked with a strange calm in his voice, the kind of calm that alerts you about an oncoming storm. Delilah ignored the disturbing feeling

"Leila, I know you don't like her that much but-"

"Yeah, I do NOT like her so why would I date her?" Luciano asked matter-of-factly

"Because I told you to" Delilah replied with the same tone. Luciano banged his hand on the table as he stood up. He exhaled rolling his neck so his hair fell over his forehead and back

"Mom, I am not and will not date Leila" he said

"Yes you will, and what's more, you'll go in there and apologise to her for the stunt you just pulled" Delilah scolded

"Oh?, and who exactly do you think will do that? My clone? Ah, no way, my clone wouldn't dare" Luciano said taunting with a smirk

"Luciano Deregardo! Listen to your mother!" Delilah yelled

"Delilah Deregardo, Listen to yourself!" Luciano yelled back then cursed under his breath ruffling his air in frustration with his right hand as his other pointed at her slowly

"I'm not about to start an argument with you. If you love Leila so much you can go fake an apology from me or something I don't care, but just because dad's not here, it doesn't mean you have to be such a bitch to make me listen to you" he said and walked out the back door slamming it shut

"Luciano!!" Delilah called and called. Luciano walked down the path that was so familiar to him ignoring the cries of Delilah who had suddenly forgotten how to open a door.

He looked up at the sky. The moon was out and shining bright just like that night. As he walked, the fog around him grew thicker and thicker, his mind was a mess but on the outside he kept smiling

'Maybe I'll see her again this time' he thought
