Hearing Ronni's words brought Boss back to the present, he shook his head to regain his composure. As Ronni asked, he quickly ran over to help. The rest got to work as well.
They gathered all the nearby twigs they could find and got a fire going within minutes. The added light source allowed them to see Vyrena in a clearer light. Just as El was about to touch Vyrena's bandaged arm, Vyrena jolted awake.
Her sudden movement scared those who had gathered around her, causing them to fall backwards. Vyrena looked all around her heart palpitating. It was as if her heart was playing the rhythmic drums in her ears.
Her throat was parched, but the words still came to her mouth, "Am I… am I dreaming?"
Hearing her speak brought them comfort. Everyone was able to heave a sigh of relief. Maribelle and Jos ran over and hugged her tightly. Vyrena winced as they pressed on the bruises that covered her body.
