Buying A New Sword

The Hybrid Dragon allowed Suzy, Amos, and Liang to all enter the village's territory. As they gradually walked to the tall wooden gate to the kingdom, Amos realized that the security was much more promising when compared to Suzy's village.

The Demon Knights allowed them to enter and they walked into the kingdom. Amos observed the area as he walked and saw many people fighting, training, and relaxing. Most of these figures were rather abnormal for Amos. For they had strange appearances, odd clothing, and accessories. They also seemed to be intimidating, as they stared deep into the soul of Amos as he unwelcomely entered the kingdom.

But of course, considering how careless Amos was, he didn't fear them at all. He stared right back into their souls, making them all uncomfortable, and causing them to look away from him. The interior of the kingdom and within its tall protective walls were small stone-brick houses, and a huge castle. The castle selfishly occupied most of the land, leaving very little remaining for the other civilians to build.

But who can blame the castle? Its builder was obviously only commanded by a selfish queen -- A very tremendously autocratic leader. Is it just Amos, or are most of these antagonistic leaders tyrannical? This queen, namely Xaionanido Catra Arnette, often called Catra (due to her breathtaking name), occupies the position of the fourth in rank Queen of Chaos after Suzy.

"Liang, " Liang looked at Suzy as she stopped, "I have to go talk to Catra, " she looked at Amos, "Take Amos to a weapon shop and purchase a hefty weapon for him, " she continued walking and approached the castle in the distance.

Liang bowed, "Yes, my queen."

She heard him.

As much as Suzy liked power (and mostly the abusing of it), she didn't like being treated this way by Liang. She wanted him to speak amiably to her as a friend would. In other words, stop the 'my queen' this and the 'my queen' that. Cut it out. Address her by her name. He seemingly avoided using her name in his mouth, and she hated it.

Liang returned to a standing position, "Amos, let's go visit the nearest Weapons Shop."

Amos followed Liang as they approached a group of civilians, "Hey Franklin, where is the Weapon Shop around here again?" Liang scratched his head.

Franklin was an extremely tall boy, with freckles on his face. Franklin looked at Amos, "Who the hell is that person next to you?"

Liang looked at Amos, "Ohh, how rude of me, everyone this is Amos, " he put his hand on Amos' back, "Amos, this is Franklin, " he pointed at Franklin, "Hero, " he pointed at Hero, "Scarlet, " he pointed at her.

"And why is he here, " said Scarlet while playing with a knife as she sat on the floor.

Liang looked at her, "He's with me--

"No, " Franklin stood, "He is not a monster nor a demon, why is he here?"

Liang stood in front of Amos, "Amos is with me. My queen commanded me to recruit him. I'd advise you to stay away from him if it is a fight you are attempting to pick."

The group burst out laughing. And Hero had a ridiculous laugh that made him sound as if he were both a horse and a man.

Liang smiled, "Can someone just tell me where is the Weapon Shop?"

"Hold on, " said Franklin, "Amos? Is that your name? Step aside, " Amos stepped aside as Franklin looked at him, "Apparently Liang has a fear for you, " he looked at Liang, laughed, and looked back at Amos, "Don't let his words make you cocky, let's see if you can take a punch, and Liang, " He glared at Liang, "stay out of it."

If Liang were to hurt or give any opposition to any of Queen Catra's people in their kingdom, she would have kicked him out. Because Franklin, being a very cunning man, would deliberately often try to infuriate Liang to make him disobey Catra's rules and get banished from the Kingdom, or even worse, she was so heartless that she would have even declared war between Suzy's people and hers. But just you wait, an entire story of her edginess is yet to come.

Franklin clenched his fist, reached his arm back as far as possible, and promptly shot his knuckles into Amos' left arm, causing a loud "Pak!" to be heard. Amos was not upset about being treated this way. In fact, although the pain was there, thanks to his absence of sentimentality, he was effortlessly able to ignore the injury.

"Huh?" Franklin looked at Amos' arm, "So you think you are that strong, huh?"

He looked at Amos' eyes, "I can see the tears in your eyes on the brink of pouring out, don't pretend you didn't feel it."

He was about to punch Amos again, when suddenly Liang stopped him, "You said a punch, " he squeezed Franklin's arm, "Don't touch him. You can go tell your queen if it is your life you wish to be taken. Now, tell me where a Weapon shop is."

He pointed behind Liang, "There, " He tugged his hand, " Now let go of me!"

Liang's ultimately serious facial expression disappeared, "Haha, how foolish of me, " He scratched his head, "I walked right passed it. Take care Franky --

"Franklin!"

Liang continued walking, "Amos let's go."

Amos followed him whilst Franklin gritted his teeth with rage.

The weapon shop was huge, which makes more room for the absurdity of Liang and Amos missing it, it literally had a huge sign. But Amos saw it, he just refused to say so. What was Liang's story?

The shop had weapons on display on the exterior and as they entered, they saw numerous other swords hung up and ready to be sold. The seller patiently awaited customers. But, don't expect him to be generous, after all, they were in an antagonistic village.

"Greetings customers, " He approached them, "Welcome to my Weapon Shop, how may I help?"

Liang answered, "Hello Garvin, I am looking for a weapon for this young man, " He presented Amos, "He is my new recruit."

"So, will you be selecting a sword for him?" asked Garvin.

"No, Amos can choose, as long as it is in my price range."

He looked down at Amos, "Okay child, go on now, there are multiple weapons to choose from. Sometimes it takes newcomers hours to choose from a branch of different weapons."

Amos looked around. There were four categories of weapons sold in the store. First, were swords, second, spears, third, bows, and others (such as axes, guns, staffs, hammers, etc.). Each category had its own wall of that existing weapon solely sold. Which advocates for the reason as to why the store was so huge. The organization of the weapons made it easier for the customers to select different ranges of weapons. Amos decided to go to the sword section.

The first sword that met his eyes was a golden one with a red handle. It was elaborately constructed, and its golden scabbard, which accommodated the sword, had a red dragon engraved on it. It was a great sword. Amos lifted it from the wall-mount and his hand was immediately dropped, causing him to bend his back, while it was in hands, to hold it due to its heaviness.

It was too heavy for him.

"So, what made you recruit a child?" asked Garvin.

"Ohh, he's powerful. Don't report me or anything, please. He can handle the fights."

"That's nice. And where is he from?"

"I'm not sure, but he lives with us now."

"I see..."

Amos moved on to another sword. This one was an all-white sword with black Japanese Kanji engraved on its long white handle. Its scabbard was black, which complemented its black Japanese engravements. Amos held it in his hand, and the weight was perfect for him. It was a very light Samurai sword.

"Like that one?" Asked Garvin as he approached Amos.

"Huh?"

"That one was sold to me by a wanderer called Yechi, it was refurbished, of course. But it was significantly wielded by the Greatest Swordsman Sato. It is light, pretty, and very sharp. It's great for you."

Amos looked at the price and saw a whooping '$1000' and decided to put it down and look for something more wallet-friendly. His eyes then met a sword next to the Samurai sword and it was love at first sight. It was a very long curved blade with a scabbard made exclusively for its uncommon shape. The black handle had depictions of what was seemingly ghosts on it, as well as a man in armor. The small details were something worth paying attention to.

As Amos took it out of its black brass scabbard he saw an iron blade which had a kite-shaped hole in it. It was odd for a blade, and it was definitely the factor that made a disparity between this sword and the many other up-for-grabs. The strange part about it was the fact that it seemingly had no mass at all. Amos could have even balanced it with a single finger.

And the other anomaly, was the fact that the sword was speaking to him -- No words, just creepy sounds. He even heard screaming whilst holding the blade.

"What about this one?" Asked Amos.

Garvin looked at it, "Hmmm, that's rather strange. I haven't seen this one at all. Even though I take my time to evaluate my weapons -- There isn't even a price on it. And the strange part of it all, is that the wall-mount it was on, was supposed to be unoccupied. Because Hero just bought a sword located next to the samurai a few minutes before you walked in, " He fixed his glasses, "And when you were looking at the Golden Red Eagle sword, that wall mount was still unoccupied a few seconds ago."

Amos was confused.

"Let me take a look at it, " he took it from Amos and immediately fell to the floor due to its heavyweight. And Garvin was no weakling. He was even stronger than Liang at a time.

He got up, "Waw, my child, " He took up his glasses, " What are you? How did you lift something so heavy? It just doesn't seem to make any sense. The Golden Red Eagle was too heavy for you, but then here you are lifting a sword that has to be at least twenty times its weight!"

"This sword, " He looked at it while it was on the floor, " It's strange. The ancient writings on it must be in Archerian-Greek. A forgotten language. And there's likely to be a curse on it. These swords can sometimes cause its wielders bad luck, curses, deaths, and many more tragedies. I'd suggest you stay away from it."

Amos took the sword and put it back on the wall-mount.

Liang then walked over.

He looked down at Amos, "We have to go soon. Queen is sending us a message through magic."

"Is this one in your price range?" Amos showed him the Samurai sword, "Is it?"

"Hmmm, 1000 is a great price. We'll take it."

Garvin delightfully took Liang's money with a smile and gave Amos the sword, "Here you go child!"

As Amos departed the store, he glanced back at the strange sword with the ghosts on its handle, and saw that it had vanished despite putting it back unto the wall-mount.
