"Alright, that's good to hear, now on to what the we have decided with, for this first year, you would have to finish all you minor subjects from first to fifth year, you also have to find a company where you would have to practice your profession for your OJT, as required for every student in their 3rd and 4th year." Dean Evans explained then continued.
"On your second year, the first half would be concentrated on your major subjects in architecture, and then the latter half would be focused on your Design and Thesis. This is the outline we have come up with, and also since you will be having advance classes, which I might say, is very advanced you can't join any classes, so you won't have to attend any classes from now on. Each one of your professor will give you the syllabus for their respective subject and you only need to study at home, you can still come to school if you like and if you have other questions regarding a subject."
"You will have an exam after three months that you would have to pass no matter what; it will also serve as an assessment to prove to us that you can really go through this hectic schedule and also give us, your teachers, some peace of mind." Dean Evan finished explaining as he pour a glass of water to moist his throat.
Ben was silent for a minute then said and asked, "Dean Evans, I'm really grateful for everything, words can't explain how much your trust really means to me, but I will surely show my gratitude through hard work and never let you down. I would like to ask when this program will start. And where will I get the syllabus for my subjects?"
"Come back here on Saturday afternoon and I will give you the entire syllabus for this year. This program you requested is to start next week, so you better start concentrating on your studies." Dean Evan's replied. "Now go home and rest because study hell will start next week, you should prepare yourself." Dean Evan's added.
Ben stood up, took a 90 degree bow before the Dean. "Again, thank you very much Dean Evans. I will study hard." He said as and then he looked up and said his goodbyes and left the office.
Ben went down the building thinking deeply on what to buy on the system's [Shop] to further improve his Fortitude, his feet moved and it brought him unknowingly to his usual spot where he always observed Karin. When he came to, he decided to also wait for Karin to inform her. Maybe it became a habit in his past life where any decisions are shared and talked about with his wife, so he reflexively went here to tell her.
'I guess in my mind, she will always be my wife…' Ben thought. After waiting for some time, he saw Karin walking down the stairs. Karin moved her eyes to see if someone was sitting at the usual bench where she and Ben meet. Their eyes met and they both smiled. Karin walked to him, slightly skipping as she nears him. "Hi Ben! You're here." She said.
"Hi, I was really waiting for you today." Ben said as he greeted Karin back. Karin tilted her head and asked, "Why?" then she sat down beside Ben. "I just want to tell you that I won't be seeing you much in school from now on and that you should not forget the feedbacks for the phones and that I'm going to miss you." Ben said as he looks Karin in the eye while talking to her.
Karin just smiled and said, "That's it? Here I thought you're going to back out from buying my land. You didn't have to come here just to tell me this; we're friends now so you can just call me." Ben was stunned then said, "Haha, oh yeah, friends… haha, I forgot I can just call you. So what will I do if I miss you suddenly?"
"Then just come to my house, you're always welcome there. Oh but it might be dusty and noisy, in the following months, since I will be developing the land remaining for me, thanks to you and the money I got from selling our farmland." Karin replied nonchalantly, treating Ben as one of her good friends.
Ben was slightly dejected but not discouraged, he then said, "Alright, you said it! Since I'm poor and you're rich, I will be smooching off from your good cooking skills and have my fill every meal I get."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, I'm going to set aside the burned ones for you." Karin joked. "So why won't you be seeing me much in school? Are you transferring?"
"Nah, I just got into an advanced program in the school and needs to study a lot, especially in the first three months until the assessment. I need to pass the exam to continue and hopefully after two years, I will be graduating from my course." Ben explained.
"Gasp! You're a genius!" Karin exclaimed.
"No, I'm not. I just want to graduate early." Ben explained.
Karin rolled her eyes and said, "In my opinion, anyone who can graduate a five year course in just two years is a genius. Don't be so modest. Oh I'm so jealous! You're making studying like a piece of cake, while I'm having a hard time solving my Trigonometry subject!"
"If you need help in any subject, I can teach you, if you want…" Ben suggested, he will spend more time with Karin this way and she can come to his house and vice versa.
"But, will I not be a burden? As you have said, you need to study a lot so teaching me will be an added distraction from your studies." Karin said contemplating.
"Teaching you will also help me recall some formulas so you won't exactly be a burden, I promise." Ben explained.
"Alright, let me think about it. I'll call you if I really can't handle it." Karin said.
"Okay, just call me anytime you need me. Let's go, I'm gonna drive you home." Ben replied. "Really? Thanks!" Karin said, happy for getting a free ride home.
