Good-Doer

Nathan supported Sire before she could fall. He stared down at her half closed eyes and her fading smile before she buried her face in his garments.

~~~
Sire groaned and twisted a bit where she lay before opening her eyes. It was chilly and the fire fom the fire place almost burned out. Leaving just a little fire. She sat up. The memories of what happened not too long ago refreshing its self in her head. What she did was definitely considered a reckless choice. It was just that she couldn't count only on Nathan to get her home. Being the only one to bloom in a dark rose she could relate with demons. This had her at an advantage and she needed to have as much demons as possible willing to help her. At least until she could send a signal to the patrol,if they weren't noticing her absence then it was definitely her offenders covering up for what they had done.
"I was not expecting you to be awake this early but here we are."
Sire recognised the voice. She turned towards the direction and wasn't too surprised to see Nathan by the corner.He was seated with one of his elegantly long legs stretched, the other folded and supporting his arm which he placed on his knee. He leaned his head on the wooden wall. The little light from the fire wasn't enough to give a perfect view of his face.
"Nathan. I suppose its just after midnight. Why are you still awake by the way? Are you busy with any work?." Sire asked.
Ignoring her question Nathan asked, "Shouldn't you be resting Sire?." He paused. "You happen to be the queen of all good deeds and can't seem to do good for yourself."
Hearing this Sire noted he was referring to what she'd earlier done. It was true she was a good-doer. Not like she could help it.Only each time she did she landed in some kind of trouble. First it was the issue with Lady Gertrude in PearlBrich.....
Sire's eyes grew a bit wider at a realisation. She just remembered the brown haired and young miss that had saved her. Back home it was a major crime if you didn't thank those who helped you when you needed the most. It was one the rules she never broke.Just because she was far from home now didn't mean she had to break that priceless rule! Never!
"What is it?." Nathan asked on noticing how quiet the girl had grown in thought.
Sire turned to him. She crawled like a baby and quickly toward him. Placing herself in between him she leaned in closer.
"You know a lot of people don't you?." She asked ever so curiously.
"What do you want?." Was Nathan's reply to her question.
"Remember that lady back in Pearlbrich?. I want to meet her. She helped me and the highest i can do is tell her thank you. Nathan i have to~Achoo!!."
Unexpectedly,Sire sneezed. Causing her head bob forward and her forehead to hit the bridge of Nathan's nose. It was not like it hurt. It was as he lowered his head did he notice how close the both of them were. Sire cupped her mouth with her small palm. Her eyes staring apologetically at him.
Nathan couldn't understand what was happening but he felt strange at the closeness. Sire reached for his nose bridge. Rubbing the spot gently with the tip of her fingers. Nathan froze completely. He didn't understand what was happening. Her touch was light and warm. It made him feel weird at tye moment. Nathan swallowed as Sire leaned in. Her scent filled his nostrils.
"Are you okay? Did i hurt you?." She asked meekly. Nathan cursed under his breath. She didn't hurt him definitely not. Only tge closeness between them and the rate at which his heart raced was definitely going to send him to his grave. Didn't this girl know that he was a male and she a female? Did she really have no idea how close they were?!!
Quickly escaping from the spot Nathan stood. Backing Sire and where she was seated.
"Nathan~."
"What business did you say you had with that young miss?." Nathan asked ignoring whatever reason Sire called him.
"Well~." The girl atood to her feet. "I had gotten into a little bit of a pickle back in Pearlbrich and the kind miss helped me out. I was wondering if you could maybe get me to meet her. I would live for her to know I'm fine and that i appreciate the kindness she showed for a stranger like me."
"I'm sure she knows you appreciate her kindness."
A frown settled on Sire's face. That wasn't the answer she expected from him. But of course,what was there to expect.
"It's not the same thing."She protested.
"You and i made a deal and i don't trust you enough to let you slip out of my watch." He made it clear turning to face her. The frown on her face deepened.
"Yes i made a deal but it isn't supposed to strip me of my freedom."
"Oh really?."
"Yes." Sire was firm as she stood her ground.
Nathan let out a deep breath. Sire stepped closer to him. Closer and closer. "I want to see the kind miss. Is that too much to ask Nathan." Then she stepped back. "Fine! I made the deal and I'll choose not to fulfill it if you do not take me to the kind miss."
"What do you mean?." Nathan asked.
"Suit yourself." Saying this,the girl headed for the sheets. She arranged them neatly and made to lay down. Making her self comfortable the girl covered the sheets over her head.
Nathan turned away from the girl who went dead silent. She was threatening him. Then again that sounds kind lady that Sire so wanted to see was Vivian. His baby cousin. It had taken so long. for him to push her off his mind. He didn't want to connect himself with any of his past but Sire was making it hard for him. He needed to put him goals first.
"Gradenhill Estates isn't too far from PearlBrich. We'll get you on a public chariot first thing tomorrow morning."
Sire smirked under the sheets that covered her. She was really getting what she wanted from this strict partner of hers.
"Really?!." Her head poked out of the sheets to look at Nathan.
"Yes. Goodnight." Nathan said. He was trying to avoid anymore conversation. "You can stay for as much as you want. I'm better off alone anyways." He murmured under his breath.
"Nathan?."
"What is it?." He asked almost arrogantly.
"How will i get back if you're not coming with me?." Sire's question hit Nathan a bit. First the girl had been persistent in roaming free. Now that he let her,she was asking of a way back. What was it with this girl called Sire??!
"You just wait. I'll come get you." Saying this,he saw the girl smile fulfilled. The kind of transparent smile that gave out how much she trusted his words.
