The morning was just beginning, and the recently graduated genin were buzzing with excitement as they prepared for their early training.
"Let's get some morning exercise in first," Reiki said with a grin. "I have graduation gifts for each of you once we're done. Let's go."
The group set off, eagerly following Reiki. Obito and Guy were particularly thrilled at the mention of gifts, practically bouncing as they kept up with him. Meanwhile, Kakashi, though usually stoic, seemed deep in thought.
After their morning run, they gathered at the training ground, awaiting their gifts.
"Obito, this is for you." Reiki handed him a small box.
"Thank you, boss!" Obito opened it and found a vial of potion. His excitement waned a little as he looked at it. "A potion?" he murmured, sounding slightly disappointed, as Reiki often provided potions during intense training.
"This one is special," Reiki explained with a chuckle. "It's a spirit-clearing potion. It'll help keep you sharp and immune to illusions or any mental interference. Plus, it'll reduce the strain on your Sharingan."
Obito's eyes widened. "A special potion! Thanks, boss!" He couldn't quite grasp how valuable this gift was, but knowing it was "special" made him feel important.
"Gai, this is for you," Reiki continued, handing him a long box. "I found it on a recent mission."
Gai opened it to reveal a pair of nunchaku, each end shaped like a dragon head, and with an impressive weight that made even Gai strain a little when testing it out.
"Thank you, Reiki!" Gai said, thrilled. He immediately began practicing with the nunchaku, feeling how it would help him build strength and skill.
Next, Reiki turned to Kakashi, holding out another box. Kakashi opened it, his eyes widening as he pulled out a sleek, short chakra blade. He recognized the energy radiating from it—it reminded him of his father's White Light Chakra Sabre.
"A chakra blade," Reiki said, smiling. "I put in a lot of effort to get this for you, Kakashi. You have the talent to surpass your father as a sword master, so this blade should be fitting."
Kakashi stared at the blade, momentarily speechless. He could feel the weight of responsibility in Reiki's words and gift.
Finally, Reiki turned to Asuma, who was watching the others' gifts with hopeful eyes.
"Asuma, this is for you," Reiki said, handing him a bottle.
Asuma blinked. "Another potion?"
"Yes," Reiki replied with a smile. "It's an advanced body-building potion. It'll help eliminate some underlying issues you have with your body and give you a boost in your training."
Asuma's eyes filled with gratitude, and he nearly teared up. Finally, he felt like he belonged in the group.
Suddenly, Kakashi stepped forward, gripping his new blade.
"Reiki, I want to spar with you," he said, determination lighting up his gaze. "I need to see where I stand."
Reiki smiled, unsheathing his own sword. "Alright. Let's do this."
The others quickly moved back to watch.
"Why does Kakashi want to fight Reiki?" Obito asked, puzzled.
Gai spoke up, his eyes serious. "Kakashi wants to see the gap between himself and Reiki. Honestly, I'd like to fight him one-on-one too someday. Reiki's strength is incredible."
Asuma, still holding his gift, felt a surge of motivation. He was finally part of this tight-knit group.
Kakashi and Reiki faced each other, and after a moment's pause, Kakashi charged forward, swinging his chakra blade. Initially, Kakashi seemed hesitant, still adjusting to the feel of a real blade instead of his usual wooden practice swords.
"Kakashi, trust in your blade," Reiki advised. "If you doubt it, you'll only hinder your progress. And don't worry about hurting me—I'm a medical ninja, remember?"
Encouraged by Reiki's words, Kakashi took a deep breath. "This sword… it's my partner from now on," he said with renewed resolve.
Kakashi attacked again, and this time his movements were sharper, more focused. Reiki noticed that as the fight went on, Kakashi was improving rapidly. Even the chakra blade began to emit subtle energy waves in response to his confidence.
"Alright, Kakashi," Reiki called out. "Now I'll get serious. Brace yourself!"
He increased his speed, and his heavy demon sword "Evil Spirit Haunting" bore down on Kakashi with tremendous force. Kakashi could barely keep up, parrying Reiki's blows with visible strain.
Realizing he was reaching his limit, Kakashi poured his chakra into the blade, which surged with lightning chakra, wrapping the weapon in an electric aura.
"Thunder Release: White Snake!" he called out, launching his blade toward Reiki.
Reiki leapt back, satisfied with Kakashi's progress. "Well done, Kakashi," he said, sheathing his sword. "You've already started to bond with your blade. That's enough for today."
The others cheered Kakashi's growth, and he looked down at his new sword with pride. He'd taken the first step toward becoming a skilled swordsman, and with Reiki's guidance, he was ready to reach new heights.
