Chapter 67 - New Project

Inside an office, Kagami rubbed his forehead as he looked over paperwork. Somehow he felt like he was tricked, but couldn't prove it. For he was lacking time to investigate since he even had shadow clones helping him sort out the mess.

While a Jonin Commander is supposed to represent the shinobi force within Konoha. Kagami found himself reviewing and processing various paperwork. Which he felt was more for the Hokage to look through and either sign or throw away.

Yet, that wasn't the worst part for he was also helping Mira with her paperwork. She was currently out with the Root trying to clean up some more Danzo messes. Apparently he was a very active man, leaving fires everywhere in an attempt for war to reign down on the village.

"Akimichi clan request for food ninja to be a part of every squad for the seven hundredth and fifty-fifth time." Kagami rubbed his nose at the paper before stamping denial on it."If you want better food on a mission, either hunt and cook yourself or prepare food in a storage scroll."

"No, green jumpsuits will not become the shinobi uniform no matter if it brings out the power of youth." Kagami stamped down denial once again.

"Sir, this month's report on virtual reality training came in. There was a fifteen percent increase in mission success and a couple percent drop in mission related deaths." one of Kagami's shadow clones reported.

Nodding, he dismissed the clone to continue its work. While he would get all the information and fatigue once he pops the clone at the end of the day. It was more annoying to keep popping them and resummoning them.

"Good, with mission success increase and lower death tolls, more money will roll into the village. Not to mention with my chakra vehicles, nanobots in the hospital and now virtual reality. The village economy is really beginning to boom. Not to mention Mira's books aren't doing too bad either." Kagami smiled before he looked at the next sheet.

"Why does the village need to pay Homura's bills, better yet, why does he have a bill to the strip club for nearly hundred thousand ryo? Did he treat a quarter of the shinobi force or something?" Kagami grumbled before forwarding the bill to Homura.

No more will the village be paying the elders bills or Tsunade debts for that matter. Oh yes, it seems Hiruzen has been using the village finances to help Jiraiya to pay off Tsunade gambling debts. Something he put a stop to since they all had thick pockets due to years of using the village finances to pay for things.

"Sir, I might have our next project. It seems due to the rapidly expanding village and virtual reality. The village is barely keeping afloat in power generation." A clone reported. "It seems our current power generation is struggling and the head of that branch is recommending either expanding or finding another source to help power the village."

Kagami tapped his finger for a moment and nodded. He hasn't really begun any new major projects in the last few months for he has been tinkering with small or one day projects. The main cause is he didn't have time to really decide on a project. Now, he had an idea to head towards and already a few ideas how to accomplish it.

"I wonder if I could build an arc reactor. It's clean energy and will keep the village with an abundant amount of energy for decades to come no matter how much it expands." Kagami thought as he made a small note for himself.

A few weeks passed by and Kagami finally found time to lighten up his load in paperwork. For it has turned out that he indeed found himself doing more paperwork then he was required. Since not only did he have Mira's, but even Hiruzen who decided he wanted a vacation. Hence he used Shikaku's advice and pushed most of the work to him.

Now, however, after dumping the work, Kagami found himself in his laboratory. There on the workbench he was currently drawing up an arc reactor blueprint and building a miniature one to test it out. Since he didn't want to build the actual size he needed only to find out the material used didn't work.

"I need an alloy that is sturdy, yet flexible with high durability." Kagami hummed.

He wrote down some options and would need to experiment with them a bit to see if they fit his needs. For not all metal alloys were that strong and if made haphazardly is quite brittle. Not to mention he would need to find something to insulate the power as the voltage the arc reactor will produce will probably burn through most currently.

Tapping his finger, Kagami also began to scribble down a few more needed items or parts he may need to make or reinforce.

"Father, the clones are nearing completion." Asura said.

"Time flies, doesn't it." Kagami smiled kindly. "Soon we will have that sparring match. Maybe Mira will finally be interested in learning Sage Mode."

While Kagami has expressed his willingness to teach her, Mira hasn't really shown much interest in learning it. Though, it was more due to their limited time they had together and their busy schedules. Since she apparently didn't want to give up her leisure time when she was not out on missions, ordering Root or training.

Mira still undertakes missions despite her promotion of sorts in becoming the leader of Root. Though it was mainly cleaning up the messes Danzo left and rooting out the more excitable members who go beyond their mission requirements. Hence she tends to be out of the village quite a bit for someone her position.

However, thanks to her efforts as well some quick movements and suggestions. Even with the Uchiha Massacre, besides a few probes from spies. None of the other villages seemed to be interested in making a move.
