Chapter 26 - The First Prototype Serum

Within the Kagami's Laboratory, Kagami was staring at a bunch of data. His hands were rubbing his chin as he looked at the data before him. While a red hair woman fidgeting nervously as she sat on the couch with a couple machines hooked up to her. Next to her a blond man who held her hand also looked serious as he waited for Kagami to speak.

"You know I'm not a certified medic, right?" Kagami broke the silence.

"Don't worry, if needed I can assign you one after this." the blonde man spoke, scratching the back of his head. "Besides, I believe you are more knowledgeable than half the medic in the hospital. Not to mention we sort of have to keep her pregnancy on the down low for now."

"Do I really need all these wires?" The red-haired woman complained.

"I don't really care about the certificate, Minato. Anyways, Kushina, you can remove the wires now if you want." Kagami sighed with a shrug.

In an instant and not needing to be told twice, Kagami had the wires tossed to the ground. Glancing at Mira who began to pick up the wires and push them away as she cleaned them up. Kagami began to speak as he held his electronic clipboard.

"Now, according to this data, Kushina is relatively healthy, but I got a few suggestions. The first being is gaining a more balanced diet, which means cutting back on ramen and sweets a bit. You don't need to totally cut them out, but just lower the amount you eat each week." Kagami said as he broke out in cold sweat.

When he mentioned cutting back on ramen and sweets, he saw Kushina hair begin to levitate as her fist curled up into a fist. So he felt a bit terrified as Kushina wasn't known for her large knowledge of various jutsus, but more like Tsunade and her physical strength. So, he was slightly frightened that she would destroy part of the laboratory.

"I see, what are the rest?" Minato nodded while nodding to Kagami to move on quickly.

"Well besides a diet, Kushina I recommend you doing some light exercises, nothing extreme, but maybe some walking, stretches and a few rounds of light cardio. Your night activities aren't included, actually I suggest you cut back a bit for the time being." Kagami said making not only Minato, but Kushina blush hard.

"I see nothing, hear nothing, I see nothing, hear nothing." Mira softly chanted to herself.

"What about the child?" Minato coughed lightly into his hand.

"Well, due to the lack of well much as she is in very early stages of pregnancy. I can't give you much on the subject, but everything is normal." Kagami answered. "In a couple months or so, I can tell you more, but it is currently impossible for the time being."

Minato nodded as a smile bloomed on his face as did Kushina. So after giving Minato a small diet list for Kushina and a list of exercises for her. Kagami with Mira saw them off as they were the only ones in the laboratory once more.

A bit after seeing Minato and Kushina off while stretching out after doing some light training. Kagami returned to the lab where a few machines were just finishing up as a simi clear liquid filled a vial. Once the beep of the machine sounded, he removed the vial and placed it in storage after taking a bit.

Placing a small bit into a small lab mouse as well some into some nanobots. Kagami observed the mouse for a bit while looking at the new list of data the nanobots sent him from the liquid itself and the ones inside the mouse. Which made him sigh a bit as the data inside made him both happy and sad.

There was a small increase in the mouse chakra and resistance, but it didn't show signs of gaining either the Uzumaki or Senju strong life force or regeneration ability. Instead it seems the lifespan of the mouse was instead shortened by a bit. Hence while it worked slightly, it was a complete failure.

'It like a weaker version of Hero Water.' Kagami frowned as he continued to observe while marking the vial in storage as a failure.

"So how is it?" Mira appeared behind him.

"A failure, while there is some reaction, shortens the lifespan in exchange for a small increase of chakra and resistance." Kagami frowned.

"Really? You can fail at something." Mira blinked in surprise. "You rarely fail when making something new."

"I am human." Kagami retorted. "Besides, it is not a complete failure. So I didn't fail, but didn't succeed either."

"How much is the increase?" Mira held back her laugh.

"If I guessed, maybe a week or three of training results in exchange for maybe six to eight months of lifespan." Kagami pointed to the data presented.

The numbers were changing slightly as more data was collected by the nanobots as time passed by. So in a while a more accurate number will be displayed compared to now.

"That is a terrible ratio." Mira mumbled.

"Yeah, however, I also gained more data so I can improve it. Hopefully I can create it so we can have a physique similar to a Uzumaki and Senju with their strong lifeforce, immense chakra, and regenerations." Kagami smiled. "Without having to shorten our lifespan in exchange."

Mira nodded as she also wanted larger chakra reserves since it means she could train and cast more intense chakra costing jutsus. While both she and Kagami had high chakra levels, both of them still struggled during the war when they had multiple days in a row of having to fight and use their chakras. The feeling of lacking chakra is something she doesn't want to feel again.

"Oh, congratulations on achieving Special Jonin." Kagami said to Mira.

"That was a week ago." Mira sighed while Kagami shrugged.

Now both of them were both Special Jonin as Mira gained it due the results of their Grass Village investigation. While Kagami gained his after introducing his nanobots in the hospital allowing some previously disabled shinobi to work once again.
