Chapter 2 Tobirama Senju

Konoha.

It was yet another bright sunny sky above the village hidden in the leaves, yet another beautiful and peaceful day.

Hokage Building.

Hu…Hu…

Jogging Inosuke arrived at the hokage building and went straight towards the hokage office, the first mission of every genin squad personally handed to them by the Hokage.

Outside the Hokage office Inosuke spotted two figures waiting for him already, one Shikato and the other a chubby girl with tanned skin, long brown hair, a sleeveless pink shirt and pink pants.

Choko Akimichi.

"I almost thought you might have forgotten about today," Said Shikato with a lazy look in his eyes as he saw Inosuke approach them both.

"If someone lazy like you can make it on time than really no need to worry about me," Replied Inosuke with a shrug and turned his amber eyes towards Choko, a speechless look appearing on his face. "Don't give me that look. I didn't bring anything for you to eat."

"Come on! It's our first official mission together. Big enough of a day for you to make something good" The expectant look on Choko's face fell after his words as complaining she dejectedly wiped the saliva at the corner of her mouth.

Inosuke was pretty good when it came to cooking but he would cook seldom, Choko who had tried the food he made before was always looking forward to next time. The three had a very good relationship due to their clan's being allied, meeting each other for the first time when they were just three.

"Looks like I kept you guys waiting," The three chatted for a while as after a little more wait finally the man who they had been waiting for arrived.

The man was of average height around 170 cm, fair-skinned with short, black, tousled hair which fell over his forehead protector, framing his face. He had the emblem of the famous Uchiha Clan printed at the back of his black battle gear.

"Kagami-Sensei," Greeted the three respectfully the moment Kagami appeared before them.

"Don't refer to me sensei just yet, your performance in the first mission would decide whether you will gain the right to call me that," Said Kagami with a little grin on his handsome face.

The face of Shikato and Choko changed a little at his words, seriously not expecting this. Inosuke who through the plot knew every jonin instructor had the habit of testing his squad didn't show as much surprise as the other two.

"Anyways let's head inside. Introduction and everything else can be left for later as we have made lord second wait enough."

*We? You are the one who was late!! * Screamed the three inwardly at his words but didn't react on the surface, quietly following Kagami into the office.

Hokage Office.

As they entered the office under the lead of Kagami, three figures were exposed to Inosuke and co.

On the Hokage seat sat a fair-skinned man with silver, shaggy hair and red-colored eyes. He had a stern look on his face and seemed to have been discussing something serious with the other two standing next to him, the arrival of Kagami taking his attention.

"Lord Second!"

"Lord Hokage!"

Bowed and greeted Inosuke and co, Tobirama nodding in response and reaching towards the scroll placed on the table before him.

"As Hokage it is necessary for me to guide shinobi to their first test myself, this mission and the ones you will perform in the future will all help to strengthen the village, always keep in the mind that the allowance received from completing the mission should not be the main priority of a shinobi."

"Personal goals will lead to personal glory and that mindset would eventually make you place yourself above the village, always remember that village is the main priority, village is the keystone and anything can be sacrificed for it, your individual goals, your reputation, your blood and even your Hokage."

Tobirama was not a man who would beat around the bush and sugar-coat his words, handing the mission scroll to Kagami and addressing to the three genin before him. His words visibly shook both Shikato and Choko as never before anyone has been so blunt to them about the life of a shinobi.

Probably no one was aware more about the darkness and cruelty of ninja world than Inosuke, he didn't show much shock at second Hokage's words but just looked at him with some respect in his eyes.

Senju Tobirama was an example of a true shinobi, he made the village his first priority and lived with that principle. To him it didn't matter whether the method was right or wrong, anything that ultimately benefited the village he did it.

His policies may have caused problems down the line but Inosuke was aware that it was truly not his fault, those left after him twisted his ideology and used it for their personal goal and the prime example of it the destruction of uchiha clan in the future.

Tobirama was wary of Uchiha but was never unfair to them, currently they didn't live at the outskirts of the village, they were given a whole separate department to manage which might seem as limiting them and directing hate towards them but it had benefits as well.

No clan was safer than uchiha currently as most who graduated didn't had to do dangerous mission outside and could just join the police force, staying the village and controlling crime.

The population of Uchiha was increasing at a rate far surpassing other clans and so if Tobirama really wanted Uchiha to be destroyed he would never have handed them a department that guaranteed their survival.

"You must have remembered these words of Lord Second by now, right Kagami? What is this? Your fifth try with a genin squad."

{A.N: To clear the thought of this being a plothole, while Inosuke was from the first batch to ever graduate from the Academy but those who were too old to enter the academy or were strong enough to be genin were granted the titles directly, so Kagami had tried with other genin squads before as well}

At this moment the serious atmosphere in the office was broken by the words of one of the two other men who were present in the office already.

Inosuke looked over and it didn't take him much long to recognize both of them, although very different from the old image of these two in his memories but still recognizable.
