4. It begins

'What? A quest. If certain skills must be unlocked by certain conditions. But.....oh yeah I was wondering how much chakra I had and the it popped up.'

After thinking about it for a while Nahen mentally pressed yes accepting the quest. ' What's the worst that could happen.'

[ Quest Accepted ]

'What could be worse than deprived training and failure in mastery? Ending up like Might Duy and ending up an eternal genin? or worse ending up a civilian in this dangerous world. No this is it, I am training hard from now on. My chakra must be that volatile for the system to give me a year to train my body to withstand my chakra.' After going through this again his mind finally settled on training hard and becoming the strongest to being ever exist in this world. The likes of which the God of shinobi and the ghost of uchiha pale in comparison to.'

Nehan comes to a decision with resolute expression and determination burning bright in his eyes. "But first things first....money. It seems wherever you go, money is at the tip of the hierarchy of powers that rule. And control the money control the world. Take Gato for example he was even able wrap one the mist swordsman around all for the sake of money. And having been in rank with the Seven Ninja Swordsmanof the Mist Zabuza was a rogue and thus had to seek out employment to gain funds.

I could set up shop in the village. But what kind of shop?" Nahen stares as he thinks about his next move.

"Hmm... it's settled. First I'll open up a restaurant with the recipes I know. I mean they are different from this world so that should be a winner and later I could set up shop and and introduce some technology from my previous life and integrate with the magic of this world and boom in no time I'd have an a tire empire at my feet."

'I'd have to talk to Mai about that, I can't let her keep on taking missions like that. What if one day those ploys against her work out and she doesn't make it––.

No...no. What are you even thinking, of course I won't allow it' He shakes his head discarding such thoughts. And decides to go down stairs to talk it over with her about.

Downstairs

Mai just finished setting up the table so they can eat and was about to call Nahen to have some dinner when he suddenly came down as if on que. Nahen sat on the dinner table besides her as they ate.

"How long are you gonna hold it in...huh? Come on just ask me already" Mai kicks off the conversation noticing Nahen's pensive nature as if debating whether or not to ask something burning within him.

"How long till you go out on a mission again.?" Nahen asks his question and feels a bit of weight of his shoulders now that his said it.

"Oh...you don't wanna be alone now is that it. I have atleast a.....month of my rest time from my last mission. Why do you ask?" Mai has a straight face as she stares at Nahen's face to see his reaction.

'So his gonna ask that again'

"I need your help with something. I've decided to set up shop in the village and I need your help setting it up. A small restaurant with new flavors the world has never had ever. So....will you help me" He faces Mai to gage her reaction and try to catch anything she may try to hide from her face.

Mai sensing the scrutinizing gaze of Nahen keeps a straight face hiding any void of feature from her face. After a while of silence Mai finally speaks. "You seem to know just what you want and you already have a plan don't you? That confidence and sure face tells me all I need to know to trust. So what's your plan."

'That was awfully easy. Have I really been this trustworthy in this life and never let her down or is there a catch.' For a awhile he looks unsure while starring at her with a flickering gaze.

"You catch on quick don't you" Mai's gaze waivers as she takes another bite of her meal and nibbles on a piece before speaking again. "If I help you then you'll delay entering the academy this year and join next year. That's my condition."

'I hope this is enough to keep him under the radar for longer. Knowing his talents it won't be long until he gathers attention in the academy.'

'Oh is that it, she wants keep me on the low now. Well atleast her offer doesn't cancel out my plans and quest since I had already decided on delaying my entry to train and now I'll have to start my financial grind. Let me pretend to think about a bit then I'll agree' He fixes his the palm of his chin on his hand as he adopts a thinking face.

'He's doing it again, his antiques are something. he needs to do a bit better to improve his acting. Maybe that's something he'll get better at at the academy.'

"It's a deal" He raises his head and extends his hand out for Mai to shake as to solidify their deal.

Sigh....

Mai sighs at his attempt at professionalism which is so funny given his looks and demeanor of a child. Nonetheless she relents and eventually shakes his hand signifying that start of their business venture.

"Well we better go check out some places tomorrow and head out to liquidate some assets for funding. And we'll head out early tomorrow morning. Meet down at six sharp." She says as she gets up to clear the table.

Nehan gets up and helps her clear the table and washed the dishes as he always does and Mai retired to her room for the night. While washing the dishes Nahen felt a sense of deja vu as if awaiting something to happen.

'It still won't happen still'

After doing the dishes Nahen retired to his room for the night and decided to decipher more of his memories to get a better understanding of how he interacted with the system and what skill set he got from it.

Laying on his bed Nahen thought about his previous life. Even if it's been four years since he saw his mother it was just yesterday that he realized he even had a past life and all those feelings came rushing back to him. 'No this is my second chance, mother would be damned if I let this opportunity slip from my hands.

My foresight and knowledge of this world are my greatest advantages and including my system I will be unrivaled. Now I just need to put in the ground work and grind it all the way out. First things first. I need to figure out which timeline I'm in.

I sure hope I'm not before the kyubii's attack because I don't remember a woman named Mai and her nephew in the canon. After my trip with Mai tomorrow I need to head out to the library and do some digging and look around the village for some more clues.'

The next morning Nahen woke early in the morning to do some light body exercises to try and figure out his workout schedule for the next month and test out his bodys limits to efficiently work it to the max without burning out before he unlocks his chakra.

After finishing his workout he took a shower and decided to try and meditate to see if he can feel his chakra. After a while he was still unsuccessful in getting ahold of it but felt a tingling sensation he hadn't before in his previous life and concluded that this was the supernatural force that drives this world.

'I should stop thinking like that. This world is now my world and imagine if a Yamanaka or someone that can read minds decided to take a peek inside, I'd even be labeled a spy or worse. I should suppress these memories. Wait can I do that?'

"Hey Jess can I do that" He yells out in his mind as he tries to communicate with the system.

' Wait what? So by meeting certain requirements doesn't really mean I have to get my hands dirty. I just need a catalyst to unlock stats and skill. This is awesome. Imma abuse the shit out of this system just like naruto did with the shadow clone jutsu. I should learn too. If I couple the shadow clone jutsu and the system then my progres will be greatly hastened and soon no one will be a threat to me.'

Just then his alarm went off and he headed down stairs and found Mai waiting for him. "Good thing you showed up or I was gonna leave without you. Come on or we'll be late." Mai remarks as she makes her way out of the house with Nahen in pursuit. They make their way through the village and meet with a man who seems to be a merchant or a dealer of some sorts.

The man was in his late fifties with a small scar by the side of his nose which he got while traveling to the capital to trade some goods. On his way he was attacked by bandits and luckily a patrol squad along the area responded in time and they were able to save him and Mai was part of that patrol squad.

They went around the village to a few locations and while in one of then Nahen decided to cut their trip short. "Well that this one."

Mai and Hanz were surprised why he chose this location he responded. "The place is perfect because it's close enough to the academy to lure in potential customers on their way out. It's also on the way towards the hokage tower and any teams going or coming to recieve missions will surely be enticed to come over. Not to mention that it's in the right proximity to the heart of the village to attract more people being located near its busy district by being close enough but further enough to afford our customers some quiet with just enough background noise to set the setting."

"...."

Mai and Hanz's Jaws were dropped as they stared incredulously at Nahen's assessment of the location. Mai quickly regained her composure and a smile bloomed on her face as she was astounded by Nahen's competence.

"Say kid, how would you like a job" Hanz noting Nahen's assessment as a strategic move decided to try and take him under his business.

"I already have one" Nahen responded with a straight face while keeping his composure.

" Too bad for me" Hanz took out a business card from his pocket and handed it over to Nahen who pocketed it.

Later on they settled on a price and concluded their business and went their separate ways. When they were done it was noon and Mai took Nahen out for some steak and after Mai had some other business to take care of and Nahen went to find the library.
