Bingo Book

Haku was running on water, doing the classic Naruto run. With his now changed plans, he was now searching for sources to make money and find a base for his organization.

There were a few ways for a rouge ninja to make money but the best of them would surely be bounty hunting and being a mercenary ninja!

Haku had already found all the bounty-redeeming locations from a map in the Yuki clan and he was currently heading to one of them.

He needed a bingo book to choose a suitable target!

Finally, he reached the land. But he wasn't planning to stop until he reached his destination!

***

After running and branch-hopping for a while, haku finally reached his destination!

He was already wearing a mask with a blue ice crystal image in it and two slits for his eyes and other two for his nose.

He entered an inconspicuous-looking toilet and then looked carefully at one of the walls.

He then pushed the wall it opened like a door with stairs leading underground with yellow light lighting up the stairs.

'Can I trust them?'

Haku sighed. 'Guess I have no choice.'

With that, he closed the doors behind him and walked down the stairs Which led up to an open space underground with a counter where a man wearing a plain white mask stood. Behind the man was another door which Haku couldn't see through.

The man nonchalantly asked Haku," You come here with a head?"

"No."

"Then. Why have you come here?" The man became insanely alert. Haku could feel that the Man could probably kill him, although the man would end up decently injured.

"Relax. I have come here for an updated bingo book and a world map."

"Alright 3000ryo."

Haku took out the Ryo from his pocket. The Yuki clan's secret basement had a few thousand ryo.

Haku slid the money below the thick glass on the counter and the man gave him a thick book along with a neatly folded piece of paper.

Haku opened the paper to see the map of the ninja world. It didn't have the location of any hidden villages just the name of the land. Although it did have multiple red dots and one green dot spread all over various lands. It also had the location of Hidden Mist Village.

"What are the red dots for?" Haku asked.

"For places like this that we know of."

"That you know of… Does that mean there are more bounty-exchanging places like this than what's shown on the map?"

"Who knows?" The man shrugged.

"The green dot is for our current location right?"

"Yeah."

Haku nodded and turned back to exit the underground area.

'This guy is probably a Jonin-level ninja. I wonder which organization is powerful enough to hire Jonin Ninja as a receptionist?'

Haku was curious about the underground of the ninja world but he already had a guess.

'The daimyos must be sponsoring this organization. The reason is simple, for the fear that the stronger missing nin might hunt them, they made a distraction for the stronger missing nins. Obviously, for their goals, the missing nins need money so they are making the stronger missing nins waste their time by hunting the weaker ones for bounty.'

Haku smirked as he looked at a certain land on his map.

'This does two things one, it controls the population of weaker missing nins making merchants safe from ninja bandits, and two, it keeps stronger missing nins busy and sometimes the stronger missing nins might even hunt the other stronger ones which is a welcome surprise for daimyos.'

Haku started running toward the Hidden Mist village.

' Obviously, this underground bounty hunting thing has spiraled out of control from the daimyo's hands as it has become quite old and there are now new players and even the hidden villages issuing bounties on their enemy Ninja. Although each major villages have its bingo book they still issue bounty here. It can be seen from the fact that Asuma has a bounty although he is the fire daimyo's guard. It was issued on the underground bingo book by one of the fire daimyo's enemies.'

'Ninja world politics sure is… Interesting.'

Haku was now headed to search for a subordinate near the hidden mist.

After running for a while he reached a poor-looking village. Most of the people here looked to be farmers and some even looked to be starving.

'Hmm. This would have been the perfect village to experiment and indoctrinate… I mean recruit kids from! But I am poor. Looting this village will probably be all effort and no fruits.'

Haku ignored the village as he kept searching the periphery of the village.

Finding no one, he again ran towards another village.

In that way, Haku searched multiple villages and cities near the hidden mist for two days.

'Ugh, It would be good if I could recruit Kimimaro before going there. He would get a strong subordinate and a good experiment material too. His clan is related to Kaguya after all!'

Haku was going to give up. But before that, he got the idea to search the villages a distance away from the hidden mist.

'If I am not wrong then the Kaguya clan had attacked the Hidden Mist after which they faced retaliation and died. I am pretty sure the Clan leader of Kaguya caged Kimimaro as he was afraid of Kimimaro's talent. That means Kimimaro escaped while the mist was attacking his clan.'

Haku started running in the opposite direction of the Hidden Mist.

'So Kimimaro currently might be a decent distance away from Hidden Mist.'

And Haku was right!

After searching through two more villages Haku found a white-haired boy resting on a snowy cliff.

That boy was Kimimaro!
