Chapter 34 : Senju Hayashi!!

Civilian District

Sarutobi Eisuke led a small group of Police Force through the civilian district, patrolling the area under his jurisdiction. 

The vendors and civilians bustled around, sometimes arguing with one another, which made Eisuke frown in displeasure. 

"This area is much more chaotic compared to the districts where the larger clans reside," he thought to himself.

Having lived in the noble part of the village for most of his life, Eisuke found the civilian district distasteful. The noisy, disordered city life here made him want to leave as soon as possible.

"Lord Eisuke, this is the civilian area," one of his subordinates explained, walking beside him cautiously. "There are many street vendors around here."

"Let's finish the patrol quickly and get out of here," Eisuke said, his expression dark. Whenever he caught sight of the poor people walking by, he instinctively avoided making eye contact, as if he feared their misfortune might rub off on him.

At his command, the team quickened their pace.

Eisuke made up his mind right then—he would never return to this part of the village. He could leave these inspections to his subordinates. 

Better yet, he would stay in his office and train his men. Once the Uchiha lost their influence, he'd seize control of the remaining half of the Police Force.

Suddenly, a loud argument erupted nearby, breaking the uneasy silence.

"I let you bully me because I wanted no trouble! But now you dare bully my sister?!" 

"Hey, Senju boy, relax. I just saw she was hungry, so I was going to bring her home and give her something to eat!" 

(Note: Aside from Tsunade, the Senju family had mostly integrated into civilian life.)

"You liar! My sister is only seven years old, and you tried to take advantage of her!"

"Ow! How dare you hit me, you brat! I'll make you pay for that!"

"Everyone here knows who you are! How dare you lay a hand on my sister, you pervert!"

"Haha... So what if I'm a pervert? Your little sister is so delicate and sweet... I'm more than satisfied with her... hehe."

As Eisuke and his team walked forward, they heard the commotion, drawing the attention of many onlookers. Civilians started gathering, watching the confrontation unfold.

Sarutobi Eisuke frowned as he glanced over and saw a boy, about twelve or thirteen years old, engaged in a fierce fight with a young man. 

They were exchanging punches and kicks, but surprisingly, the younger boy was holding his own. In fact, the older guy seemed to be the one struggling!

Thud, thud, thud!

The brawl raged on. Neither of them seemed to be a ninja, so their fighting looked more like a chaotic scrap between wild animals.

Nearby, a little girl in ragged clothes stood crying, desperately yelling, "Stop fighting!" She tried to pull her brother away, but she was far too small and weak to do anything.

Sarutobi Eisuke's frown deepened. Who on earth would cause such a scene on his very first day in charge? Were they trying to disrespect him right off the bat?

Angry at the thought, he stormed forward, his face darkening.

"Move aside! The Police Force is here! Get out of the way!" One of Sarutobi Eisuke's men shouted, shoving aside the crowd of onlookers to clear a path.

"Stop!" Sarutobi Eisuke shouted as he stepped forward.

But the two fighters were so caught up in their brawl that they didn't even notice him.

"I warned you! Since you refuse to stop, I'll have to stop you myself!" Sarutobi Eisuke's irritation turned to fury. With a cold snort, he suddenly appeared right in front of the two fighters.

Without hesitation, he kicked the young man aside, then kneed the boy, who flew back and hit the ground hard!

Thud!

Sarutobi Eisuke might have used too much force, because the boy coughed up blood as he hit the ground.

"Brother!" the little girl cried out, rushing to her brother's side to help him up.

The once noisy street fell silent, with only the sound of the girl's sobs filling the air. Sarutobi Eisuke's cold voice cut through the quiet, "I told you to stop. Didn't you hear me?"

"Who are you?" Senju Hayashi asked shakily as he stood up, facing Sarutobi Eisuke, who had just attacked him.

"I'm the captain of the Police Force!" Sarutobi Eisuke declared firmly, wanting to make it clear that he was now in charge of the Police Force.

"No, that's not possible!" Senju Hayashi shook his head. "I have seen all members of the Police Force and I've never seen you before!"

Every member of the Police Force had the Uchiha badge, so Senju Hayashi was certain that Sarutobi Eisuke wasn't a real Police Force member.

"Well, I am now!" Sarutobi Eisuke's voice turned icy. "From today, I'm in charge of this civilian area. Do you understand?"

"On the first day of my taking over the Police Force, you're causing trouble? Are you trying to disrespect me?"

His tone was cold and threatening.

The young troublemakers who had been fighting with Senju Hayashi heard Sarutobi Eisuke's words and rushed up to him, pleading: "Captain, you have to help me. I just wanted to take this girl, who was alone on the street, home to feed her. I didn't expect this guy to start a fight with me. I'm innocent!"

The young gangster acted as if he was a good person in need of help.

"You're lying!" Senju Hayashi, known for his short temper, moved forward to continue his attack. "Everyone knows you had bad intentions. Three girls from our street have gone missing, and you're involved!"

He was about to hit him again.

"I'm still here. Who gave you the right to act like this?" Sarutobi Eisuke said coldly, tightening his grip on the thug's throat. "Who gave you the right?"

As he spoke, he increased the pressure on his grip.

Senju Hayashi's face reddened as he struggled, gritting his teeth and saying, "Sir, this man is definitely not a good person. Uchiha Shin has already started an investigation and found that the missing girls are connected to him!"

"Shin? I said this area is under my control now. Don't mention any Uchiha names to me!" Sarutobi Eisuke's expression remained cold as he tightened his grip even further.

Senju Hayashi, struggling without enough air, could only cough weakly.

"Let my brother go! Let my brother go!" The little girl, seeing her brother being choked, ran forward and hugged Eisuke's legs, begging him to release her brother.

"Get away! I can't stand dirty people touching me!" Sarutobi Eisuke looked at the little girl's dirty clothes and casually kicked her away.

The little girl was thrown several meters and fell to the ground. She still tried to reach for her brother. "You're a bad person! Let my brother go!"

"Sister!" Seeing this, Senju Hayashi's eyes filled with anger. He struggled to pry Eisuke's grip off his wrists. "You're not fit to be the captain of the Police Force. How dare you hurt my sister... I..."

A faint green light seemed to flicker around him, but it quickly vanished.

Sarutobi Eisuke, coldly watching the struggling person insult him, threw him to the ground. "Hmph, insulting the captain of the Police Force. Take him back and discipline him for half a month, so he learns the rules of Konoha!"
