Chapter 2

"Eat up, you need to recover your strength" said the nurse to which Yuu obliged.

He had been feeling extremely hungry and thirsty ever since he woke up and so he devoured everything before him without hesitation.

After he was done, the nurse took everything away and left. Not a few minutes had passed when the door of the hospital room opened and an old man wearing a large conical pointed hat walked in followed by two shinobi dressed in a green armour jacket and wearing animal masks of a bear and a dog. Yuu's eyes widened as he immediately recognized the old man as the third Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village, Hiruzen Sarutobi. The shinobi known for his deadly schemes of annihilating the Uzumaki clan, Senju clan and Uchiha clan, three of the most powerful shinobi clans in the world, alongside his friend Danzo Shimura.

"Greetings Hokage" said Yuu as he quickly rose from his bed and perfomed a bow. He tried to be as relaxed as possible while doing so as someone as powerful as Hiruzen could easily read a person's body signature to know their thoughts and emotions. This was something most trained shinobi could do.

Hiruzen slowly waved his hand indicating for Yuu to remain seated "No need to rise to greet an old man such as myself. A child such as yourself should focus on resting as much as possible" he said softly with a kind smile similar to one a grandfather would offer towards his grandchildren.

"Thank you Hokage sama" said Yuu as he once more sat back onto his bed though this time his posture was upright and formal.

"What's your name little boy?" asked Hiruzen.

"Yuu Sakamoto" replied Yuu with extreme politeness.

"Yuu Sakamoto. What a good name" praised Hiruzen to which Yuu replied with a thank you.

 "Anyway Yuu, you must be wondering why I am here today" said Hiruzen to which Yuu nodded.

"I came to check up on you as well as ask if you remember anything before you woke up?"

Yuu immediately replied stating that he remembered what had happened before he fell unconscious after which he explained the details of the past few days based on the memories he received as well as what happened on the night he killed the Kumogakure shinobi except he didn't mention the intense pain he felt after killing the shinobi nor the fact that he wasn't the real Yuu. In a sense he had told ¾ of the truth.

Hiruzen listened to Yuu words and after a few seconds of analysis nodded and proceeded ask his most interesting question.

"Yuu, why did you kill that shinobi?"

Everyone in the room focused on Yuu as he lowered his head in thought after which he lifted his head and replied.

"Because he killed my parents and slaughtered my village." Said Yuu as he clenched his fists while revealing a look of hatred. What Yuu revealed was his actual emotions. A side effect of having the original Yuu's memories ingrained into his mind is that he felt a connection towards the original Yuu's family and village and hence the thought of the massacared villagers of the original Yuu's village seemed to instinctively fill him with rage and sadness and while they were currently useful as they made his story more believable, he made a mental note to deal with these emotions later before they become a hindrance.

Hiruzen observed Yuu's reactions before giving a brief nod once more.

"I see." He said as he walked towards Yuu and patted him on his shoulder "I'm sorry for your loss."

"In hindsight of the death of your entire village, I have decided to allocate an apartment room in which you can stay in and every month you will receive an allowance of 10,000 ryo for living expenses. Also given the fact that you are still a child, I have enrolled you to the ninja academy in the village where you will get the education needed to become a shinobi. However if you don't wish to be a ninja, I can also arrange for you to attend another academy within the village." Said Hiruzen

"Do you like these arrangements or would you like to request for something different?"

"These arrangements are perftect. Thank you Hokage sama" said Yuu as he bowed his head in gratitude which earned him a smile from the Hokage.

"No need to thank me as this is something that any Hokage should do for his people"

 He said as he smiled brightly at Yuu to which Yuu merely revealed a look of thanks once more.

"Now then the nurse who took care of you has agreed to show you to your new accommodation when she discharges you at the end of the day so the keys are with her. I hope you recover and I look forward to seeing what kind of shinobi you will become" he said before exiting the room leaving Yuu to his thoughts.

Hiruzen and his two guards walked back towards his office. Once he was seated comfortably in his office, he immediately dismissed his guards after which he simply spoke while glancing towards the left wall of the room.

"What were your finds Kakashi? Was there anything worth noting?" he said, his expression no longer jovial but rather calm and serious.

A shinobi walked out of the shadows on the left corner of the office, his left eye covered by a hidden leaf headband.

The shinobi bowed and replied.

"No Hokage, despite his nervousness and fear of his current situation, every word he spoke of was the truth. I ensured to observe every single one of his movements with my sharingan"

Hiruzen nodded "While all of his words were true, we still don't know if it's the whole truth or if he omitted some information. Have a Chunin monitor his movements and report all of their finds to me"

Kakashi nodded and immediately vanished from the office using the body flicker Technique. Hiruzen sighed as he took out his smoking pipe, lit it, inhaling a small amount before exhaling it forming small clouds of smoke. He thought about the reports he had heard a few days ago of a few small villages being massacred by mysterious shinobi in the land of fire however after sending squads to investigate the incident he had discovered that this was being done by various shinobi of the other four great shinobi nations who were probably probing Konoha in order to determine how strong they currently were. After all it had only been two weeks since the Uchiha massacre in which the entire clan had been slaughtered leaving only a single member alive, Uchiha Sasuke. This had dealt a huge blow to the village's forces as it wouldn't be wrong to say that around a 1/3 of the jonin fighters were from the Uchiha clan. This just showed how talented and gifted the clan actually was and losing them resulted in a huge blow to the village's fighting power. This added onto the fact that a few years earlier, Orochimaru 'one of the legendary sannin and a major S-rank fighting force' had defected and gone rogue, filled Hiruzen with worry.
