Chapter 25

"I didn't know you were good in fire manipulation." She said to which Yuu merely shrugged.

"Its creating a simple flame to illuminate our surroundings. Nothing worth writing home about." He said. Yakumo stared at him for a few milli-seconds before beginning to descend the stairway with Yuu on her tail. They soon arrived at a door sealed with even more seals which after Yakumo placed her hand on, unsealed itself revealing a wide long corridor that stretched as far as the eye could see. As they continued forward, Yuu spotted numerous doors on each side of the corridor. Yakumo opened the first door on the left side of the hall numbered 1 and walked in followed by Yuu. Yuu was surprised to see that inside of the room was well decorated like the guest room of an inn with table, chair and large bed among other things meant to increase the comfort of the resident. At this moment seated at the desk in the room was a humanoid monster which seemed to be screeching and struggling against the chains that bound it to the floor.

On its chest were numerous fuinjutsu seals which glowed every time the creature struggled trying to break free from its bondage. The creature was humanoid in shape however it had dark scaly skin, long clawed hands and feet. Its face was demonic looking with two large horns extending from its head.

When he first spotted it, Yuu couldn't help but think 'What….the Fuck!!'

Yakumo noticed Yuu's look of shock which desired to know who this monster was and chose to speak.

"This is Minamoto Kurama, a member of my clan who had their consciousness taken over by his genjutsu personality. Now he is nothing more than a beast that wishes to bring destruction to everything around it without thought or reason. This is why he along with many of my clan members are sealed beneath my home." Said Yakumo.

She then formed a few unique seals and pressed her palm on Minamoto's scaly forehead. The demon screeched and wailed struggling even more violently than before until finally after a few seconds, It quietened down. Its body began to bulge and compress as it morphed and transformed until finally what was left in the place of the demon was a middle aged man. The middle-aged man slowly opened his eyes and after spotting Yakumo, knelt on the ground quickly and bowed low offering his greetings.

"Hello princess Yakumo."

"Hello Minamoto" said Yakumo as she beckoned for him to stand.

"And would this happen to be the person you told me about princess Yakumo" said the man as he turned towards Yuu who had been watching the entire conversation in silence.

"Yes he is"

"I see… What an amazing ability you possess young shinobi-nim"

"Thank you." Said Yuu with a polite smile on his face.

The man turned towards Yakumo "So…it is time."

"Yes" said Yakumo with a sad look on her face "Are you ready Minamoto?"

"Yes your highness" said Minamoto with a devout look on his face "Anything for the betterment of the clan."

"I'm sorry but could someone please tell me what the hell is going on?" asked Yuu completed confused by the interaction before him.

Yakumo turned towards Yuu "Do you remember when I had asked you whether your technique was capable of taking another person's Kekei Genkai for your own? Well after hearing your answer, we decided that In order to better integrate you with our clan as well as ensure that the genes you pass on to our future offspring are already fully acclimated to the Kurama clan Kekei Genkai, that you would acquire the Kurama clan's Kekei Genkai." She explained. Yuu's eyes widened as he understood why he had been brought here as well as why Yakumo looked so sad. It would seem that today Minamoto would die in order to grant Yuu the Kurama clan's Kekei Genkai.

"Now that I understand what's going on I can't help but ask if Minamoto is alright with all this? After all my power works by taking from those I kill. " said Yuu as he glanced at Minamoto.

"I am a Kurama clan shinobi and if my life is what is necessary for the betterment of the future generation of the Kurama clan then so be it. Besides the seals on me that currently seal away my other personality can only help me maintain control for an hour a day. I spend the other 23 hours locked within my own mind tortured by my other personality. In my current state I can barely be considered living a life hence my death will serve as a sort of release as well." Explained Minamoto with a sad yet relieved look on his face.

"Very well" Yuu nodded in understanding "So when do we begin?"

"I have already done everything I could to ready myself so I'm ready" Minamoto then took out a sealed letter which he gave to Yakumo.

"Please give this to my son, it has everything I have always wanted to tell him but was unable to do so all this time."

Yakumo nodded and kept the envelope inside her sleaves. She then turned towards Yuu and signalled him to begin.

Yuu opened one of his storage scrolls and after performing a hand sign, a short sword of 70cm appeared. Yuu grabbed the blade's handle and faced Minamoto.

"I'll make this as quick and painless as possible" he promised after which Minamoto nodded and closed his eyes.

Yuu quickly swung his sword horizontally slicing right through Minamoto's neck decapitating it. Due to the force behind the strike, the head was launched a few feet into the air before falling and rolling a few more feet on the ground. Blood gushed from the headless body like a fountain for a few seconds before slowing down to a stream. The body stood for a few seconds after which it slowly fell forward landing on the ground with a soft thud, the blood on its neck finally slowing down to a trickle.

Yakumo took a deep breath trying to calm herself as she stared at the body of one of her dead clansmen. She knew that this was necessary in order to prepare for the successful future of the Kurama clan but still as she looked at her one of her dead loyal clansmen of their already declining clan, she couldn't help but clench her fists tight enough to draw blood.

"How long will it take you to absorb his Kekei Genkai?" she asked Yuu as she decided to turn her attention on something else to distract her mind.

"About a week or so"

"Good. And what would happen if you killed a person with the same Kekei Genkai as what you already possess from a previous kill?"
