Prologue

(7 years after the Kyuubi Attack)

(One day before Sasuke's 8th birthday)

At midnight, Sasuke will turn 8.

Because of his birthday, every Uchiha is within the village. And Sasuke will return tonight at around midnight, so that he can get the surprise birthday party that his older brother, Itachi has told him about.

Tomorrow, the Uchiha clan will launch a coup. While it will not fight against the whole village, the plan is to kill Hiruzen and his friends, and put those who come to assist them to sleep by the Sharingan.

Itachi looked over the clan.

'Madara' will deal with the stronger people, all the jonins, who have gathered in the Police department and will lead the coup in some hours.

And Itachi will take care of the rest of the clan, with one or two jonins, chunins, genins, and kids, pregnant women, elderly, crippled, everyone inside the Uchiha clan.

He first headed to a house in the outskirts of the clan compound.

A jonin, Kei Uchiha, must be dealt with first.

She is a genius who created Rasengan and Chidori even before turning ten, and unleashed a massive S-rank lightning ninjutsu in the Land of Lightning, killing it's two-tailed Jinchuriki and a whole platoon near the end of the Third Ninja War.

Plus, she has been taught Flying Thunder God Formation by the Fourth Hokage in exchange for the Rasengan, though Fourth Hokage managed to create the jutsu on his own.

While she won't be able to teleport without her two other teammates of the Fourth Hokage's bodyguard team, she has a myriad of ninja tools.

Itachi tiptoed, only to see that her door was open. And there was no trap or barrier like usual.

"Itachi, come in."

Her voice rang, and he cautiously entered the house.

Kei Uchiha has been scorned in the Uchiha clan because she used Izanagi to survive, and scorned in the whole village because she left her camp behind. Well, she was the only one survived in that camp because Onoki turned everyone else to dust.

Even though she later kill the two-tails Jinchuriki and killed an entire platoon of Kumo, inside their village by unleashing the S-rank ninjutsu Kirin, it didn't fix much of her reputation.

Then, one of her genin also got killed.

This has led her to become reclusive, unwilling and uninterested in the coup or peace. She just cut herself off and remained in her home.

She was deemed suicidal like Sakumo Hatake.

But, when Itachi entered the house, and saw her gracefully drinking tea, all kinds of danger signals told him to run away.

He tried to run, but couldn't get out of the house. There was a barrier.

He used Amaterasu to burn it, but it just got absorbed.

He used Amaterasu on her, but it got absorbed as well, leaving her unharmed.

"Kid, are you determined?"

She finally looked at him, directly meeting his faze, staring into his Mangekyo Sharingan without any fear.

"Yes. I must do it."

Itachi answered, feeling that she is just testing him. She didn't have any will to live herself.

"Then, you must know certain things.

I have planted bombs in the Sarutobi, Shimura, Koharu and Homura clans, and on Sasuke's body. They are undetectable, because they don't have any chakra."

Itachi became tensed.

Bombs on Sasuke!?

"Don't worry. They are two types of bombs. After 1 hour, all bombs will explode. But, if you press the button of one type of bomb before the time, it can be diffused, but the other kind of bomb will explode.

One kind is on Sasuke, and the other kind is for others.

If you are going to eliminate the Uchiha clan, you must eliminate those clans as well. It doesn't matter even if they are children.

And don't even try to evacuate them. The moment anyone steps outside, the bombs will go off regardless.

You must take all the blame. That you controlled me with Shisui's Mangekyo Sharingan for a whole year to do this.

This is the price of my life.

I will ask you again, Itachi. Are you determined?"

"Yes."

She pulled off her robe, revealing a bomb strapped on her.

It had a timer, showing ten seconds. A strange gas started filling in the house, making it difficult for Itachi to breathe.

"The barrier will become inactive ten miliseconds before the timer goes off. If you don't escape within that short period of time, you are dead.

Your time starts now."

Itachi held his breath as the gas has completely filled the house. Even though it was hurting his eyes, he had to keep them open to see when the barrier will be lifted.

"*Cough*!"

Kei started coughing, and attacked Itachi with a stick, leading him to inhale the gas.

Finally, the barrier opened, and Itachi jumped outside.

Kei's house exploded, creating a mushroom cloud and noise that made Itachi deaf.

The explosion was contaminated horizontally in the barriers around her house, not affecting the other houses.

But, it was enough to alert the whole village.

Itachi rushed, and started killing everyone in the clan compound.

Even Obito, who has already finished his job in the police department, came to help Itachi in finishing the job, leaving him to take care of Fugaku.

Someone from the Sarutobi clan escaped from his clan compound, so the whole clan erupted in explosions, killing 80% of the clan in an instant.

Including Konohamaru.

Sasuke saw this, and ran towards the Uchiha clan.

Only to see blood everywhere.

"Nii-san!"

He entered home, only to see Itachi slashing off their parents' heads.

Itachi suddenly rushed towards Sasuke, and took off his t-shirt, revealing a scroll attached to his back. He took out its cute content, and there was a red bomb in it.

He pressed the button that had deactivate written on it.

Suddenly, Shimura, Koharu, Homura, and all ROOT bases exploded.

Danzo, who was running away, also got caught up in the explosion, but was saved by someone with a Space-time ninjutsu.

Hiruzen's other advisors got immediately blown into pieces though.

Hiruzen himself barely survived, loosing his entire left half in the explosion.

Suddenly, above Konoha, several hologram screens appeared, showing the scene between Sasuke and Itachi, though they didn't have any idea about it.

"WHY DID YOU THIS!?"

"To measure my strength, Sasuke. Just the Uchiha clan wasn't enough though. No. Just Konoha isn't enough."

"I will kill you!"

Sasuke jumped at Itachi, but he easily kicked him off.

"You can't kill me, Sasuke. But, there is something you can do."

Itachi's eyes turned from a normal three-tomoe Sharingan to a different pattern. Of the Mangekyo Sharingan.

"You will be a measure of my strength. Awaken the eyes like mine, hate me, resent me. Then come before me to get your revenge. And, it will only make me more powerful."

Itachi casted a Tsukuyomi on Sasuke, showing him how he killed the Uchiha clan, without Obito in it. He showed him how he controlled Kei to prepare the bombs for him, that he was the one who has planted them.

But having already used Amaterasu two times, and has inhaled that unknown gas, he could only torture Sasuke for 12 hours in the Tsukuyomi genjutsu.

Yet in the real world, not even a second passed.

Itachi casted one last glimpse at Sasuke, and left.

The tear he shed didn't show on the hologram screen above Konoha.

And even though someone plucked Fugaku's and Mikoto's eyes, it didn't show. Showing the time before the unknown figure came.

Then, it left.

Every single Uchiha body, except Sasuke, became covered with a seal, and then, their eyes got destroyed.

As Itachi escaped from the Uchiha clan compound, and finally saw the sky, his expression became grim.

But, he killed the ROOT ninjas that were keeping an eye on him, and escaped from Konoha.

Whole Konoha was silent. In just one night, suddenly, the strongest clan in the world, the Uchiha clan, was gone.

And not only Uchiha, but also the Sarutobi, Shimura, Koharu and Homura clans were also gone.

The only survivors were Sasuke and Itachi from the Uchiha clan, Hiruzen and the ninjas not in their clan compounds from the Sarutobi-Shimura-Homura-Mikadoko clans.

And even then, Hiruzen's enter left half was blown away.

The hologram screens over Konoha vanished, and then, Itachi appeared before Hiruzen and his ANBU.

"I have completed my mission, Hokage-sama."

Saying that, he killed Hiruzen with Amaterasu, and snatched Kakashi's Sharingan. Then, he disappeared into crows.

Konoha has suffered huge losses today.
