Spying and Pets

It was a normal day when they arrived. Maiguh had been walking among his Enders gleaning as much information about his siblings as possible. Quite suddenly a few Enders suddenly seemed to be repulsed by something. So Maiguh walked over and was greatly surprised to fine two tiny black creatures with glowing purple eyes. They resembled the Enders, and so he called them Ender mites. The pair of them were quite sweet and affectionate. Maiguh allowed them to follow him everywhere he went. They stayed so here his heels he nearly stepped on them several times. He nudged them here and there. He was glad for the company.

Sometime later on Maiguh was listening to a complicated account from a man when he heard something far off in the distance. he turned around, far off in the distance stood a small form. Maiguh could barely believe his eyes.

"Is that you my daughter? Come home to me at last." He said quietly, as if he feared it was a trick of sorts.

The form was coming closer, yet did not speak.

Maiguh took off toward it quickly. Then they started running toward him, glorious laughter filling the air.

"It is I father, come home to you at last." Dinetee cried. She flung herself into Maiguh's arms.

"My daughter." He said holding her tightly, "I thought I would never see your face again."

"I know father." She said, she continued to hold onto him.

Maiguh at last let go and drew her to arms length, "How did this come about."

"The goddess Sonnis found me in a hole. I had fallen I suppose." Dinetee said, "she carried me to the castle..." she told the whole tale to her father. How Rissa had aided them, and what the others were like, she described Epis in great detail. How sad and despondent he looked.

"But now I have come home to you." Dinetee finished, "but my sisters are still imprisoned." She looked more sad now. "Where is Endra, does she still fly here?"

"Indeed, though she cannot see or hear me it seems."

"Perhaps I should try." Dinetee suggested.

Maiguh shook his head, "for now I am happy enough to have you back."

That was when his two little pets come over. Dinetee knelt down to them and stroked their heads. "Such pretty little ones," she said quietly.

"Come with me, I shall take you to the castle." Maiguh said, though something troubled him now. "What became of Sonnis and Rissa."

Dinetee explained that Sonnis was a nymph and was being held as a guest. Dinetee did not seem concerned but Maiguh grew stormy with the news.

"Where is the son of Onicent?" Maiguh asked.

Dinetee said she did not know.

Maiguh considered then told her he would send a small group of Enders to watch the castle, in case something should happen.

Dinetee was confused, but then Maiguh explained what he had been doing. Perhaps something flowered in her eyes then, though it quickly disappeared.

"For now you should stay by my side," Maiguh told her. "Eventually you will have to go to the overworld again, but only when I am sure it is safe for you."

"And my sisters?" Dinetee said.

"For now are trapped." Maiguh replied sadly, "But let us not think of that, I am sure we can free them eventually. For now come with me to the palace."

Dinetee smiled, but inside she was longing for Nevlin and Endra, without them she felt fragmented.
