I'll protect you from that guy

'I always knew, and still…'

'Anon was always indifferent, at first, I thought he was trying to act cool, but no one can maintain such a concept for five years, without any flaws.'

'Still, can indifferent even describe his eyes?'

'The eyes are the window to the soul, within his, there's a kind of detachment that can't be faked.'

'Does he not see what Seth has done?'

'Seth… since he entered our high school, he hasn't initiated a conversation with anyone else.'

'What is he trying to achieve?'

'And why is Anon so close to him?'

'Why does he not see how vicious Seth Constantin is?'

Catharina stared at Anon a distance away.

Neither knew of the other's principle, so both naturally needed to be careful of the other.

Still, this fight shouldn't be as brutal as the last…

"We've known each other for almost five years now, Anon." Catharina smiled with traces of nostalgia flashing through her eyes.

"That's true."

Although they were a distance away from each other, and though their voices weren't exactly loud, they both perceived what the other had said, and was saying.

"And you've known Seth for a couple of months or so, right?" Catharina's countenance turned cold when mentioning that name.

Anon replied concisely, "Indeed…"

It was feasible to act as if they knew each other from childhood, as to make this a reason why Seth transferred schools, but he couldn't care to help Seth and those behind him develop an excuse for the Constantin family's young master.

Catharina took a step forward, approaching Anon.

"Well, I'd like to ask you, for old time's sake, to steer clear of that guy." Catharina did not hide it, glancing at Seth with meaning.

The red eyed boy stood atop the small mountain alongside Andrew, Melissa, and Rolan, with the first two keeping a slight distance away.

This was to be expected.

They were completely normal individuals, experiencing normal lives, living normally until now.

Even Catharina, no matter how cold she acted, was perturbed by Seth's actions early.

As for them, it went without saying.

Rolan seemingly did not care, and with a cigarette in his mouth, he frowned slightly from Catharina's gaze.

"Girl, stop watching here and get to fighting for fuck's sake."

Turning to Anon, Catharina sighed, saying, "I'm sorry Anon, but I'll defeat you here before doing the same to Seth. Whatever it is, I can protect you from him."

"And I'll show you now, that this is the truth."

This girl…

There seemed to be a nonexistent wind that churned.

As the air became chaotic, her blonde gold hair fluttered in the wind as she darted towards Anon.

The duo was separated by more than thirty meters, and yet, this could not even be considered a separation.

Her figure transformed into a blur, appearing before Anon in less than two seconds.

But, as previously said, the passage of time was perceived differently by stellar fighters, and as their spirit grew more powerful, this sensitivity to time's flow increased tremendously.

Currently, Anon's spirit could just about bear four simple tasks simultaneously, not quite yet able to bear four complex tasks, but that was a great limit.

Plus, his current level was already powerful, incredibly so.

In his eyes, Catharina drew closer, and yet, he was still in the middle of doubting what she had said.

'Defeat me, and then defeat Seth?'

'Defeat me?!'

He pondered if Catharina had confused her words.

Or maybe, he had misheard.

This had to be the case, right?

She didn't actually…

The girl traversed the earth quickly, not as quick as Nickyle, but he was the fastest in the class.

Before she appeared within striking distance, Anon pondered on how she was going to attack, what was she going to do?

Running towards him like this, it was obvious that her principle was more inclined towards close combat.

But when she appeared around three meters away, Anon's eyes widened.

On the earth which Catharina's foot was about to land on, a strange manifestation took form.

'A snowflake…?'

This snowflake released a golden hue as it appeared in a spot that Catharina's foot was just about to step on, and that's when it happened.

Mid-stride, as if expecting it, she stepped onto the snowflake and leaped into the air.

More importantly, three more golden snowflakes appeared in her path, helping her leap over Anon in a fluid motion.

Caught off guard, he hesitated for less than a second, but this time was enough for a cold light to flash through Catharina's eyes.

Staring at Anon's back, she was in the midst of descending headfirst into the ground, but there was enough space separating her and the earth to complete three flips.

Mid flip, she swiped her hand towards Anon.

Instantly, four golden snowflakes manifested in the air, already rushing towards Anon.

Firstly, there was a moment of hesitation, secondly, she was behind him, effectively finding herself in his blind spot before striking out with these four golden snowflakes.

By the time Anon turned around, these golden snowflakes would've already landed on him.

This was a prediction that could be deduced by most.

Catharina had also deduced this, but one must understand, when that initial golden snowflake made its appearance, Anon's ears had began twitching and his irises were spinning.

The sound of her feet landing on earth had never arrived, and instead, there were four whizzing noises that approached.

Anon and Seth sparred more than two dozen times in the last month.

Each spar spanning hours.

Coupled with his training from youth, his martial arts weren't any weaker than Nickyle or Catharina.

When he heard those four sounds, his ears twitched uncontrollably, and at the same time, he had already reacted.

She hadn't touched the ground yet…

Mid-air, Catharina saw Anon's figure abruptly transform into a blur.

The golden snowflakes severed the chaotic winds and yet, they failed to impact on her initial target.

It was as if he had eyes behind his back and already knew where the four incoming projectiles were.

In one gulp, the distance separating him, and Catharina was devoured as he simultaneously twisted his way out of the four golden snowflakes.

It took time to describe, but to contextualize how fast this scenario played out, gravity had tried its best and yet Catharina had yet to land.

Instinctively, she braced herself as Anon reached within striking distance, but only when he did, was she capable of perceiving the chaotic aura that encompassed Anon.

During the peak heat hours, one could gaze into the distance and see the air shimmering from the heat. Now, that very sight circumscribed Anon's figure.

Her pupils trembled and contracted, as several and tens of thoughts buzzed through her mind.

As Anon's fist arched through space, the air that outlined it trembled as it parted the winds and descended onto her body.

Bang!

Just before it landed, a golden snowflake materialized in its path.

The collision between the two was overly one sided as the descent of Anon's fist was slowed down only marginally.

But it was within this fraction of a second that this collision brought, that Catharina utilized to create two more golden snowflakes that off-tracked Anon's fist.

So as when it reached her, it only slightly grazed her side.

Still, a light graze ruptured her clothing as blood oozed from a wound on the side of her abdomen.

Crashing onto the earth, her vision was fully homed in on the descending heel as Anon stomped with callousness flashing through his eyes.

Within seconds were moments, and there was not a single moment that Catharina wasted, nor hesitated.

She had long pushed off the ground with her legs while clawing her fingers into the dirt and pulling herself forward with her hands.

Like a quadrupedal animal, she leaped forward and dodged Anon's stomp.

Amidst her dodge, she spun around mid-air.

The speed at which she moved caused her to skid across the dirt as her feet struck the ground.

Whether she was facing Anon mid-air or coming to a complete stop while skidding across the ground, her gaze remained solely focused on her adversary—or more accurately, the aftermath of the earth where he had stomped.

His left foot had penetrated the earth and was embedded multiple inches into the earth, creating a small crater.

"You!" Catharina was speechless, "Are you trying to kill me?!"

Anon glanced at her strangely, "Kill?"

"Unless it's instant death, I'm sure that the facilities in military zone #91 can handle a simple crushed lungs and punctured organs or whatever…"
