Chapter 15: I wish I was her

As we arrived at the hospital, they quickly got her to the surgery room. I stayed there, in the middle of the hall trying to catch my breath. I looked around to see if I could talk to a doctor, but all I could see were white walls and empty seats. I walked and stood next to the cold wall. I slid down and sat on the corner. My hands wrapped around my knees. My head bent down, I started crying. I felt a part of me got buried deep down. I wanted everything to get better. I heard footsteps, it was familiar. I raised my head and saw that Lucas squats next to me. He looked at me and brushed my hair off of my face.

"Will she be okay?" I asked, my voice shaking.

"she will, she is strong, remember that," he said. He helped me get up but I dropped to my knees. I couldn't help it, I felt exhausted, and weak at the same time. Everything was spinning around and got blurry all of a sudden. He looked at me and said that I need to have a good rest. I didn't want to, I wanted to stay next to her.

"Your eyes are turning grey, you need to rest, or it won't be good," Lucas said. I touched my face and nodded. I got on his back as he took me back home. My cloak was wrapped on me and it made me feel warm from the chill wind. The streets were empty, the only light was the light of the moon, which showed Lucas the way. As we got back to the castle, everything was silent. The lights were warm, and the servant was standing at the corners of the hallway. I put my chin on his shoulder, the ambiance was cold and silent. I don't remember how much I have cried, but my eyes were itching and swelling.

"Are we there yet?" I asked. I never thought that my voice would be this low and crackling like a wooden piece in the fire. My breathing got unusual and everything got blurry as I closed my eyes. The only thing I felt was the way Lucas walked to my room. As he put me onto the bed, I felt the warm silk and my head sinking in the cushions. I closed my eyes as I slept deeply.

*Lucas*

I arrived at the hospital after checking on Alexia, I asked the receptionist about her best friend, and she told me that they took her out of the surgery an hour ago. I ran to the hall that I was in before, and saw that the doctor was standing there. He looked at me. The doctor was a friend of mine, his name was Joey. we both had a very tough childhood, but we managed to get through it. His parents were killed by humans and he swore that he will help everyone who is in danger. He was 150 years old, while I am 146 years old. I know I'm pretty old, but, we vampires are immortal, the only weapon that could kill us is a sacred golden dagger that has the power of the sun, which is now long gone. no one knows where it is located. I went to Joey and asked him about Abigail. he looked at me and sight.

"she needs some time to recover, great that it wasn't with the sacred dagger, or else," he said as I cut him.

"I know what your thinking, but, we have to hope for the best," I said. he guided me towards her room, she was deeply asleep as the serum was attached to her hand. I grabbed a chair and sat next to her, then without realizing I slept.
