MSL - Sweet Surprise

We drove in Christ's car. He sits behind the wheel in very neat clothes, while I only wear jeans and a t-shirt because my goal is to go to campus for college today, while Christ is obviously going to the office to do his work as usual, a busy man who lives in his own bubble.

The first few minutes of our journey, there was no sound other than the soft music Christ was playing.

But I felt the need to say something so I interrupted, "Put me off, here." I said when we arrived downtown.

Christ seemed quite surprised at my request, "What are you going to do?" He asked.

"I can take a taxi to campus, or make an appointment to meet Zevanya, which is clear I won't interfere with your work. I just have to get out of the house, but that doesn't mean I'll be following you to work." I answered Christ's question.

"I don't want to argue, " I added. I'm really tired and my energy is drained so I don't want to be objected to by anyone.

"Okay, but I need your help." He said briefly. It's a little weird when I have a request and Christ doesn't argue or deny it.

I furrowed my brows, "What kind of help?" I asked him.

I saw Christ's jaw tighten briefly, "You can sit still and calm down. It's othe simplest thing you can do to help me."

Oh damn, doesn't he remember the thin happened last night? How gentle does he treat me?

"Ok." I relented and chose to remain silent.

The car turned a block from bento's now deserted uncle's coffee shop, no longer visible there was any activity there and it saddened me. The tavern was once a part of my life after all. Christ's car pulled over in a row of shops.

"Why stop here? Didn't we just have breakfast?" I said as I howled out the car window, it's a row of shops and also some shops offering fast food. "Or do you want to drink coffee?" I asked.

"Let's get out," He got out of the car, twisted then opened the door for me. I got out of the car and followed his steps, because his hand was holding my wrist.

I just saw this coffee shop, maybe it just opened, or I stayed at home for too long to not know that there was a new coffee shop on this block.

"This is a new coffee shop?" I looked at Christ and he smiled at a glance.

"Mr. Alfonso." Christ greeted a man who came out from behind the bar counter.

"Mr. Hudson." The man smiled kindly at Christ, he did have a very familiar name wherever he was, and everyone respected him, of course because of the money he had.

"Isabella Stuart, this is Mr. Mark Alfonso." Christ introduced us and I smiled greeting the man.

"Mss. Stuart, it's great to see you in person." The man said, and obviously I immediately threw a look at Christ.

"Have we ever known each other?" I asked tentatively, and the mustachioed man laughed.

"Not yet miss, Mr. Hudson who made me know you." It is said.

"Oh." I smiled for myself, it felt so stupid not knowing anything while the man standing by my side knew everything.

"Come on, come with me, you can take a look at everything." The man said and I looked at Christ once more, this time to ask for his consent. Christ nodded, he pointed his hand at Mr. Alfonso like giving me permission, or rather letting me follow the mustachioed man.

"I'll wait there." Christ said, pointing to one of the tables in the corner of the tavern.

"Ok." I nodded, as I followed the mustachioed man I admired the whole corner of the room which was made very elegant with parquet wood and also warm shades of chocolate.

"You like it?" Ask Mr. Alfonso at the end of our tour around this coffee shop, I can even call it Café because he looks more modern, classy and elegant.

"Absolutely." I shuddered happily, even though I was no one but being invited to tour privately like this made me miss my former world, the smell of coffee that had just been splashed with hot water that penetrated my nose made my heart rippling.

Mr. Alfonso drove me to Christ's table, he seemed to be enjoying a cup of espresso.

"You like it?" Christ asked as soon as Mr. Alfonso left us.

"It's crazy." I even almost soared as happy as a kid when I saw balloons or ice cream.

Christ handed him a key that had been on the table.

"Yours." He said as he looked at me, my eyebrows deeply intertwined. "Key?"

"The key to this coffee shop, from tomorrow on you don't have to be confused about what to do to avoid Granny's spicy mouth." His smile and I were still stunned looking at him.

"This . . ." My hand was shaking grabbing the key from the table top that Christ had thrust upon me.

"You are a business student, even if your college is problematic, at least as your lecturer, I can spare you if you can run a business in the real world." He said and I was teary-eyed. My hand covered my mouth and half of my face. I cried because suddenly all of Bento's uncle's coffee shop crew stood up to me and shouted "BELLA" by holding up a balloon bearing my name and a love-shaped balloon with the words "Wellcome."

I spelled it with tears pattering down my cheeks "Welcome Isabella"

I quickly got up from my chair and rushed to hug Christ, until we became the center of attention of all the visitors who then applauded.

"Thank you uncle Christ." I whispered in her ear and she hissed very softly. "If you call me in the room by that name, I will bite your lips."

"Psstt, Granny doesn't like fussing at night." I whispered to him back and he chuckled.

"Ok, it's enough celebration event, you have to work hard and prove to me that you are capable, then I will give you an A+ grade for your business course." He said, pulling my chin. After that he left me in the tavern that he said was mine now. Christ waved at everyone and they cheered shouting at the handsome guy, oh, why am I the one who misbehaved just now.

One thing I learned from that guy, he wasn't vindictive. The proof is that he still hired Justin and let the man be near me even though Christ with his own hands once almost broke Justin's nose bone because of his jealousy.

What a sweet man, Uncle Christ, my lecturer.
