Chapter 61: The End
Chapter Text
Himiko couldn't believe it. She was graduating with the rest of her friends. After the Nomu Prison Break, the rest of their year had gone by relatively quietly, the only hiccup coming when the rest of the class learned about Himiko's past. Things were tense, and even now, she didn't talk to a few of her classmates unless it was completely necessary.
By the time they became third years, Himiko had gotten her license, and thanks to Eraserhead, she was introduced to the underground hero community. The year went by quickly, filled with everyone stressing about classes and whatever was going on during their work studies. Though they weren't too stressed since their class rep and vice rep made sure everyone attended study sessions and took an appropriate amount of time to relax.
Now that the year was coming to a close, Himiko looked at the diploma in her hand. She was standing alone on the path to the class 3-A dorms. She had overcome her trauma thanks to the support of her friends and the sessions with Hound Dog that she attended, even though her mandatory time had long since ended.
Things were great. She accomplished a lot in the two years she was here... now there was just one more thing to do before she left UA.
"I'm sorry for being late, Himiko. My parents called me to congratulate me on graduating."
Himiko looked up at Momo and admired the dark-haired girl's beauty. Apparently, before Himiko met Momo, the woman's hair was long and usually held back in a ponytail. Himiko imagined that she looked beautiful, but Himiko preferred the shorter style that Momo had been wearing since their meeting.
"It's ok, Momo. I haven't been waiting long." Himiko said as she smiled and hugged the taller woman.
Momo smiled. "That's good." Momo smoothed out her skirt and said. "So you wanted to talk."
Himiko nodded. "Yes, but not here. Can we walk a bit?"
Momo didn't protest, and so the two women started to walk down the path towards the main building. As they walked, their shoulders brushed, and their fingers grazed each other barely. They walked mostly in silence, simply enjoying each other's company while their minds wandered.
Himiko had known for a while now that she was going to do this, but there just wasn't a time when she felt prepared to do it. When she first started developing feelings for Momo, things were complicated by Himiko's mental state and the trauma she had suffered through. Then as time went on and Himiko felt she had a better handle on things, they were both busy with school and work, but now in this moment of quiet where they were neither student nor pro hero, Himiko found the courage to take advantage of the quiet. Now all she needed to do was get Momo to what she felt was a good spot to do this.
Momo smiled as she looked at Himiko. The blonde girl had come so far since they first met, and Momo was glad to have at least helped her along that path. It scared her when she first started developing feelings for Himiko. The blonde girl was in such a fragile place, and Momo couldn't help but remember when she had fallen for Izuku and how that affected their relationship, so she did her best to push the feelings away and focus on making sure her friend was ok.
Now though, with all the classes and work studies out of the way and with Himiko having recovered and gotten to a point in her life where the things of her past no longer cause her the pain they used to. Maybe, just maybe, Momo could find a time to tell Himiko how much she mattered to her.
Momo hummed curiously as they approached the medical wing of UA and headed past Recovery Girls office. Himiko smiled as she said. "I used to be so scared of leaving this place. Now I can go anywhere alone."
Momo nodded and felt a blush spread across her cheeks as Himiko smiled up at her. "Though I do prefer going places with you. It's fun watching you enjoy the common things in life."
Momo cleared her throat. "Well, I simply enjoy experiencing new things, and my childhood was very... sheltered. I didn't experience a lot of things that our peers did."
Himiko giggled, and Momo couldn't help but enjoy every second of it though her heart ached hearing Himiko say. "Well, I didn't either, so it was fun experiencing them with you."
The two stopped in front of a door, and Himiko opened it and let Momo enter. Momo recognized it right away, even with the furniture covered with sheets and the bed stripped. It was the room Himiko stayed in while she recovered from her shattered mind.
Himiko closed the door and said. "I met you here for the first time. You caught me in a pretty messy state."
Momo giggled. "It was the first but certainly not the last."
Himiko puffed her cheeks out and crossed her arms. "No one said you had to come make sure I was up on time in the mornings."
Momo patted Himiko's head and said, "I never minded helping you. No matter what time of day or night."
Himiko's cheeks flushed, and she said, "I think we both know why I wanted to talk to you here."
Momo hummed and took a step back. "Yeah, I think we do. Why don't you go first."
Himiko rolled her eyes but smiled as she said. "You've been a wonderful friend and an amazing person to be around. You're smart and beautiful and kind. You have the makings of a great hero, and it's so much fun to tease you."
Himiko giggled, seeing the stern look Momo was giving her. "And that look. It's hot."
Momo blushed and quickly looked anywhere but Himiko. The blonde smiled wider and said. "I guess that's why it was so easy to fall for you. Everything about you is wonderful, and I just can't get enough, so if you'd be so kind, Momo. Will you let me keep experiencing new things with you? Will you let me hug you whenever I need it, and will you chastise me for my teasing and maybe get a little jealous when I tease other people?
"What?" Momo said as she quirked an eyebrow at that last part.
Himiko smirked and said. "You look really hot when you get jealous. I really like it."
Momo blushed and huffed. "I do not get jealous... often. It's only when it seemed like you were ignoring me."
Himiko took Momo's hands as she asid. "I could never ignore you. You're too attractive not to notice at all times. Now can I get an answer?"
Momo answered in the best way she felt she could. She leaned over and crouched slightly as she pressed her lips to Himiko's. As they kissed, Himiko's hand snaked around Momo's waist while Momo rested her arms on Himiko's shoulders. The two split after a moment longer, and Momo said. "I would love to do all of that as long as I am with you. I love you, Himiko."
Himiko grinned and kissed Momo again before saying. "I love you too."
_____________________________________________________________________
"Hello and welcome everyone. If you're just tuning in, we have been spending the day celebrating this, the ten-year anniversary of the Nomu Prison Break Incident. We've been sharing stories of the heroes who fought and mourning those who lost their lives on that fateful day and those harrowing days of chaos afterward." The news reporter said as she swept a strand of hair behind her ear.
"Later in this hour, we will show an exclusive interview we did earlier in the week with Japan's number one hero Prism. Where she revealed just how she managed to take out seventeen bioengineered nomu at once. Also, stick around after for-"
The tv clicked off, and Izuku looked up at one of his wives. Mina crossed her arms as she said. "You know guests are gonna be arriving soon, right?"
Izuku groaned a bit as he got up. "Yes, I do, but I also wanted to see that interview again."
Toru sighed as she walked into the living room of their home. "Please don't bring that up. I didn't want to do it, but my PR people wouldn't stop insisting I tell the world how I did it."
Mina draped her arms around Toru's shoulders and kissed her briefly. "Poor number one hero. Having to save the day and tell the big bad press about it."
Toru groaned and wiggled her way out of Mina's grasp. "It's just not fun. I'd rather be out there stopping bad guys than talking about what I did in college."
Izuku shook his head as he leaned against the counter. "She says that as if what she did wasn't insane."
Before Mina could comment on how crazy their wife was and still is, the doorbell rang, and she went over and opened it. "Oh look, it's the troublemakers."
"Hey!" three teens cried out as they entered and hugged Mina.
Kota huffed. "I'm not a troublemaker. It's these two who are always dragging me into something crazy."
Mawabi gasped and leaned on Eri, who giggled as her friend said. "Can you believe this, Eri? He said it's our fault? That's just not true."
Eri smiled and nodded. "You're right, Mawa. It's only ever you who's dragging us into crazy stuff. Kota wants to train all the time. I seem to be the only one who wants to actually study for UA."
"Oi. I study all the time." Kota said.
Both girls rolled their eyes and entered the kitchen as they greeted Toru and Izuku with hugs. Izuku ruffled Mawabi's hair, making her snap at him as he said. "The kids are all in Nana's room, so go say hi and all that."
The three teens cheered and headed down the hall towards Izuku, Toru, and Mina's kids. There were five in total. Mina had a child first, and it unlocked a desire that she inherited from her mother, and that was to have a large family. Toru wasn't sure at first about having kids, and after giving birth to twins, she said firmly that she was done. Mina teased her and was punished for it by giving birth to twins a year later. Luckily for the family's sanity, that seemed to satisfy Mina's desire.
The doorbell rang again, and Izuku answered it, finding Hitoshi and Camie with a small child with lavender hair hiding behind their legs. Greetings were exchanged, and the kid made a b-line for the back of the house where the others were.
"He's still as shy as ever," Mina said before giving a quick hug to Camie.
Camie shrugged. "He gets it from his daddy. This guy was so shy at the start of the school year."
Hitoshi groaned as his wife doted on him. "I was not. You were just too excitable. I wasn't used to it."
"But you were friends with Mina and Toru before meeting me. We all be viibin the same way, so how was I too much, but these two weren't?"
Hitoshi scoffed as he smirked. "Because, unlike you, these two were too busy making lovey-dovey faces at Izuku and each other. I was barely on their radar."
The trio blushed a bit, and Izuku said, "Ok, you have a point, but still."
"But nothing," Hitoshi said as he leaned against the counter. "You three were somehow super observant and oblivious at the same time. Don't even get me started on Izuku's plan to ignore his own feelings so that Toru and Mina could hook up."
Toru rolled her eyes as her husband, and his best friend started bickering. She answered the door and smiled as she let Momo and Himiko in. as they entered and began talking, Toru made her way back over to Izuku and snaked her arms around his while Mina leaned against his other side.
Izuku smiled as his partners embraced him, and they watched Himiko and Camie team up to tease Hitoshi about the footage of him that got out, showing off how he tripped over his own capture tape and face planted into a puddle. Momo was desperately trying to play mediator, but her smile showed that she was content to let this go on.
Life was great. He was married to the two most important people in his life; they had a family and were happy. His mother was married and enjoying life with Hirooki. His friends had accomplished their goals, and they were all making the world a better place for the next generation. Izuku grinned and held his partners a little closer. Even with the hardship and pain he suffered along the way, Izuku was confident that he'd do it all again if it meant he got to have this life with these people in it.
