Ch 7: The Mouse Will Play
Cameron leans up against the wall next to his bedroom door, not quite wanting to leave yet. Just being in the same house as her sends shivers down his spine.
What is he going to do about this? She doesn't know what she did, but does that make it okay? He wasn't her Master, so things were different. They felt different.
She looked so sweet and innocent, but when she opened her mouth, sarcasm came spewing out. Honestly, he found it refreshing and funny. He longed to hear more, to just sit and have a conversation with her, but she needed time. A lot has happened, and for her, it only feels like a day has passed, even though Cameron has been watching her, taking care of her, and blooding her the whole of the 3 days she was unconscious.
To be honest, he liked it more than he should have, having someone to tend to for a change. But he must remain a gentleman. He would never do something against her will or without her knowledge.
Though, when she bit his neck, it was hard to control the urges. Her lips were so soft and warm, and the undeniable tingling sensation that comes from a bite in that most intimate area was hard to ignore. He hadn't been expecting it the first time. He though she would simply press her back against him to drink from his wrist. But when she looked at him, he didn't want to believe what she was thinking.
There's something about a bite to the neck though. A long hidden Vampire secret. Should he tell her, and ask her to stop? Or allow her to keep living in ignorance while he feels dirty and perverse each time?
Everyone has guilty pleasures, right? But he could get in trouble, or worse, she could. Vampire laws are very strict, and unwavering. That's why there are so few.
Letting out a deep sigh, Cameron walked out of his bedroom, out of the house, and into his car. While on the way to his place of work, he thought about it nonstop.
This rule would be tricky to work around. Female vampires are very rare. They have to be a specific blood type in order to turn. That's why there are laws in place about how they should be treated, and how you're allowed to mate with one. If a female bites you on the neck, it typically means she wants to enter a life contract with you. It's similar to a marriage proposal. If the male bites back, the contract is sealed with blood, and they're yours forever.
This was the problem. Terra bit his neck not knowing what it meant, but his body knew, his blood now smelled of her. Any vampire he came near would instantly know that he was in an unofficial contract, until he bit her.
How was he going to handle this situation. Just thinking about the next time she needed to be blooded made his manhood harder than granite. He couldn't hide it forever. If he waited too long, he may be reported to the council.
Arriving at the Social Services Office, Cameron entered the building and went straight to his desk to fill out his time off request. Unfortunately, he would also have to talk to the director about the situation and what happened to Terra. Abandoning a fledgling, a female no less, was a big taboo. There would be an investigation into who would do such a thing, and he'd be at the center of it.
After submitting his paperwork, and having a long talk with his boss, Cameron trudged back to his car, the only thought leading him forward was coming home to a house that wasn't empty for once. Coming home to Terra in particular. Getting to snuggle close to her and feel her warmth...
A sudden realization hit Cameron like a ton of bricks. He forgot to tell Terra probably the most important thing about being a fledgling vampire. Since he waited so long, she probably will get upset and tell him no. Oh by the gods, he was screwed. Getting in the car, Cameron rushes home.
