Chapter 53 kang Lei where are you?

After calling Kang Lei repeatedly over the weekend to no avail, Dominic was hoping to catch this elusive man when he finally turned up for work. however, days had passed and Kang Lei still hadn't shown up.

Dominic had even gone to his apartment a few times and still there was no response, infact it seemed as though Kang Lei was gone. with the government on his tail Dominic had decided not to have his men keep watch on Kang Lei for some weeks.

It's now the middles of week and Dominic was again stood in front of Kang Lei's door. He was hoping that the man was inside and he could finally beg forgiveness and explain himself but yet again nothing, neither could any sound he heard coming from the inside the apartment. Frustration and worry was coursing through his mind, it could be possible that Kang Lei was upset after seeing the news and left, it's also possible that the WuXain's had done something to him.

Dominic ran his hand through his hair irritation now evident on his face, his body became tensed, not only was he having to dealing with government doing everything to take him under their control, along with battling excruciating side effects of the Alpha X gene, not forgetting the serpent from hell MiMi WuXain. Now, now he was left in a state of helplessness not knowing were the man he had fallen for had gone. "Kang Lei where are you?" He said in a depressed voice.

"Hello can I help you?" a voice ask pulling Dominic from his thoughts. He turned his head in the direction from which the voice came and came face to face with an elderly man.

"Oh I was just looking for someone" Dominic replied cautiously.

"Who are you may I ask?" The old man continued.

"Am his boss Dominic Lanxian, I was just checking he was okay he hasn't been to work for awhile. Have you by chance seen him around?" Dominic was hoping the old man new something of where Kang Lei may of went, at least that would give him some peace of mind that he okay.

The old man stood looking shockingly at Dominic, this made Dominic confused did he say something wrong, "ahem.... Uncle are you okay?" Dominic asked awkwardly.

"Oh yes....yes.... sorry... Kang Lei well the last time I saw him was Sunday afternoon, he was taking BoJing to get food shopping. I thought it was odd that he hadn't returned so I had gone to file a police report.... but as you know a missing omega is of little concern to the police...." the old man said with a flash of worry in his eyes.

"Did you know Kange Lei well?" Dominic asked.

The old man signed and walked passed Dominic opening the door to his apartment, "come on in son, let's talk" he said entering his apartment. Dominic paused for a moment before doing as he was told. "Go take a seat at the table I'll make us a pot of tea" he pointed to the direction of the dinning table.

Dominic sat politely waiting making a mental note of the old mans home, he wonderd if Kang Lei's own home was maybe of a similar layout and the thought of this this made him bitter.

looking a Dominic's dress was it obvious he wasn't fitting for such a place, and his polite yet cold manner made him appear obnoxious.

Grandpa Chong glanced at him in awe Dominic was more angelic than he had ever imagined and his demeanour was oozing coldness and an untouchable god like character.

Not long after the old man came back with a pot of tea placed on the table and began to pour as he spoke."So you asked earlier how I know Kang Lei?" He said handing Dominic a small cup of tea. "Mmmm" Dom simply replied with a slight nod.

"First off, Kang Lei calls me Grandpa Chong, I've known Kang Lei after he moved in next door with his little baby stuck to his hip.... you know you're the first person I have seen come to visit him... he's never talked about his family... it was strange, but seeing how society is towards Omegas I thought as much they must have abandon him"

"What about friends has he never have friends over?" Dominic interjected.

Grandpa Chong laughed "haha! Friends Kang was afraid of me when we first meet, though he was clearly staving he refuted my help also to the very end.... friends" grandpa Chong sighed "everyone first opinion of him his always negative, besides no one would dear be seen with an unclaimed omega with a child, I have seen other omegas cross the street just to avoid him, I know Kang Lei is strong but I know he hurts greatly...." grandpa Chong took a sip of his tea before continuing.

"This world really hasn't made things easy for Omegas, everyday you hear another omega has gone missing, so you see am worried. I know Kang lei and he isn't irresponsible, he was also looking forward to working for you, so he wouldn't have just disappeared. I know I shouldn't ask you this but you're a powerful man Mr Lanxian please look for my Kang Lei...." Grandpa Chong spoke his voice breaking and tears gathering with his eyes. Without a undeniable doubt he loves Kang Lei like a son and was he genuinely worried sick.

Dominic was warmed by Grandpa Chong kindness and he was happy that Kang Lei had one person who genuinely cared for him. The only issue now was where was Kang Lei? Why did he leave without saying a word? If what the old man said is true, then Kang Lei wouldn't have left just by hearing the News of him and MiMi WuXain, besides he was there so there shouldn't be any misunderstanding....so why?

Just then Dominic thought, could Kang Lei had run from MiMi WuXain instead, maybe MiMi WuXain herself knew were Kang Lei was.

Dominic was uncomfortable he didn't like the idea of not knowing what direction to take or not knowing not having enough information available. But one things for sure whether Kang Lei left willing or not he needed to find him.

He took a sip of tea before saying "uncle I'll do everything I can to find Kang Lei I promise, but first do you by change have a key to Kang Lei apartment, I need to see if he's left anything behind"

"Oh thank you Mr Lanxian..... key yes I do have a spear key, I sometimes look after BoJing for Kang Lei so he gave me a spare Key just in case.... I'll go get it just now" Grandpa Chong was now lively, a flash of joy came across his face, finally someone who could really help him, for nights he hadn't slept now he can at least relax knowing Mr Lanxian was on the case.

Once he had found the key he escorted Dominic to kang Lei's apartment, when they entered they were surprised everything was there, it appeared that Kang Lei had no intention of leaving. Dominic looked around and found the pen he had given Kang Lei, it was placed neatly on a little dresser almost like a precious display. Dominic had rigged the pen with a small microphone so he could listen to Kang Lei and BoJing while they were at home, whenever he heard their voices his whole body became calm and relaxed, they were like an unprescribed medication healing his troubled mind. For the past few days he hadn't heard anything from the two so he had assumed Kang lei had either thrown the pen away or broken it out of anger after seeing the the pictures of him and his estrange sister, but seeing the pen here and so neatly kept something was differently wrong Kang Lei was in danger.
