Chapter 23- A new life awaits

Kang Lei departed from Dominics mansion after his interview in a daze and he was now in a taxi heading home, he couldn't wait to tell BoJing and grandpa Chong.

The shock of today's events still seem surreal, he couldn't believe he had gotten the job, no correction he was personally given the job by a Lanxian.

His heart was beating fast, everything was about to change he could see his dreams coming true closer and closer.

Kang Lei's Heart suddenly skipped a beat when a imagine of Dominic Lanxian his future boss, popped into his head out of nowhere. On the night he had finished having dinner with grandpa Chong and after what grandpa Chong had said, he got curious and went online and did some research on Dominic. Their was hardly any images of Dominic online and the ones they did have always seem to have captured him from the back or at an obscure angle never fully revealing is face. But the mere glims that kang Lei saw sent his heart beating like a race horse.

He became afraid, he started wondering did he like this man? What was he feeling and why.

Ever since he came across that image, Kang Lei hasn't been able to take his mind off of Dominic. He felt like he was going crazy, why was he obsessing over a man he had never met? But something about Dominic Lanxian was pulling the threads of his heart.

But now that he had the job, what was he to do?, he could never be with Dominic their social standing was too far apart.

Kang Lei sighed and run his hand through his hair as he sat in the back of the taxi.

"Ahhh... Christ I must be going crazy" he said looking up at the ceiling of the taxi.

"Hay mate, did you have a bad day?" the taxi driver called out, after seeing Kang Lei's demeanour.

"Ahhh.....no am good actually....really... today was an unbelievable day" Kang Lei said awkwardly with smile.

"Oh, well cheer you, whatever it is am sure you'll get through it" encouraged the taxi driver then proceeded back to concentrate on his driving leave Kang Lei alone with his thoughts.

"I do hope so" Kang Lei responded in a low voice and stared outside the window he thought to himself,'Tomorrow's problems are for tomorrow, today is happening right now, and that's what's important'

Not longer after sitting in the taxi, did Kang Lei reached home. He was excited he couldn't wait to see the look on his little BoBo face when he hears what his daddy did. Kang Lei raced up at fast as he could to grandpa Chongs apartment and knocked on the door.

"Grandpa Chong, it's me Kang Lei am back" he said in hurried breaths

Within no time the door was opened and BoJing stood there standing, with grandpa Chong trying to keep up with to his quick steps.

"Daddy, daddy how did it go, are you okay, did they ask you tough questions, where they kind to you, huh?" BoJing hurriedly ask. He was looking at kang Lei with excitable questioning eyes and forgot to even invite his father inside to sit down before asking.

But kang Lei was feeling a little mischievous and wanted to give his reveal a bit of build up.

Kang Lei looked down and put on an expressionless face.

Poor BoJing and grandpa Chong started to both feel sorry for him, BoJing who was still standing holding the door, let's go and embraced his father in his arms.

"It's okay daddy, am still so proud of, please don't be sad" BoJing said while burying his face into his fathers body.

"Are you sure BoBo, because daddy's now going to have to spend less time with you, and sometime be home late, .... mmmm are you really sure you're okay with that...?" Kang Lei responded with a mischievous smile and a eyebrow raise.

BoJing was puzzled and immediately raised his head to look up at his father, it took him a good few seconds for the information to register before he could could react.

"Huh... daddy... do you mean... you got the job.." BoJings voice was low then became excited at the end, his heart was beating fast and impatiently waited for his fathers response.

"Yes! Little BoBo daddy did, we the job baby!" Shout kang lei excitedly,

"Ahhhhhh!!!!!....daddy your amazing!" Screamed BoJing jumping up and down like a little chihuahua beaming from ear to ear.

Poor grandpa Chong was left standing watching this interaction, he had never seen such a smile on Kang lei's, his heart felt warm and proud as if Kang Lei was his own flesh and blood, tears of joy streamed from his face as he went to embrace Kang Lei. The admiration he held in heart for this man who stood before him was beyond words.
