Chapter 2

After 36 years,

The pack meeting was getting started and the Alpha Blaze Astor of 'The Freecrest Howlers' pack was seated at the throne with his father seated beside him. The Alpha had a powerful aura radiating and no one had the nerve to speak a word. No voice was heard and the air was dead silent. The Alpha was shirtless showing his strong hyper muscular body and six-pack abs which made sure to frighten every individual male wolf. He was very strong that no one ever dared to even start a fight with him.

"So, as we all know that our Alpha Blaze Astor would never find his mate" the father wolf started but he couldn't complete his sentence and stopped in his tracks when he heard a loud growl. He looked beside him to see his dear son, gritting and showing his long fangs and sharp claws towards him. The father wolf took a deep breath before saying, "The meeting is stopped here and will be continued tomorrow" and with a tear flowing from his left eye, he headed out without turning back, not wanting to see his son, who has turned into a beast.

This is the scenario that had been happening for the past two days. Whenever the elder Alpha would utter the word 'mate', his son would go wild and would start to harm and hurt others. The very first day of the meeting which was held a week before was canceled when Alpha Blaze got furious and unconsciously, he bit the neck of his father. He even dug his sharp nails into his father's arms and when he came back to his senses, he remembered nothing. He couldn't believe that he had hurt his father. He locked himself in a room for 4 continuous days without either eating or drinking trying to calm down his beasty wolf but it seems that it didn't work. He even punched the wall with his bare hands and hurt himself unable to bear the guilt and pain, he caused to his father.

Realizing the situation after about half an hour from the Beta, after his father's departure, Alpha Blaze rushed to the packhouse and locked himself up in his room. He knew he had messed it up this time too. He hated himself for causing such a nuisance. But what could he do when things don't happen in his control? What could he do when he was not at all aware of his actions? What did he do to be worthless that the moon goddess cursed him with no mate? Only if he had a mate, there wouldn't be many problems. Only if his mate was beside him to calm down his beasty wolf, he wouldn't have caused such troubles to his father, his pack, and himself.

It's been two days since the Alpha locked himself up. He was currently lying on his back on his king-sized bed looking at the ceiling deeply immersed in thoughts. A knock was heard by the door but he had no nerve to even move an inch.

"Son, open the door. Stop blaming like it's your fault" came his father's voice.

The time was going by but the Alpha didn't know how to face his father. His heart was filled with guilt, embarrassment, and anger towards himself. A few moments later low noise of sobs and sniffs entered his ears indicating that his father was crying. The Alpha sprinted towards the door and opened it harshly. It was so harsh that if he had added a little more pressure, then the door would have been broken by now.

"How comes it's not my fault, dad? It is me who had created all these troubles! It is me who behaved like an animal! It is me who was cursed with no mate! It is me, dad! I am the beast myself! Please stop crying, dad! It makes me feel more guilty. It hurts me seeing you like this" he whisper yelled worriedly towards his dad and wiped all his tears flowing on his cheeks with his thumb.

"No, son. It wasn't your fault. It was my fault that you are cursed." his father stated distressed.

"No, dad. It-" before he could complete his sentence his father cut him off by saying, "Son, why don't you try choosing a girl of your likes and make her as Luna." He was extra careful to not use the word 'mate' very well knowing his son's temper towards that word.

Alpha Blaze took a deep breath before saying, "I- It's just I can't, dad. I don't think that's the right thing to do."

"Son, please we don't have other options. Do it for me, son" his father said hopefully looking at the Alpha's eyes. The Alpha just shook his head in disapproval.

"It won't be right, dad. The only way out to clean this mess is to make Daxon, the next Alpha. In the next two years, his mate will be 18 and it will be the right time to hand over all the Alpha responsibilities to him."

"He is a kid, son! And besides, he isn't strong enough to handle our pack!! Our pack will be knocked down if it happens! I won't stand our years of hard work go waste!! I would never allow it to happen!!!" his father said sternly.

"But-"

"Blaze" came a voice.

Blaze turned towards the source of the voice and saw Beta Calvin approaching him with his son Daxon, who was in his high school uniform.

"Yes, Daxon!" answered Blaze.

"My car is repaired so can you please drop me by my school?" asked Daxon.

"Sure, boy!" he answered back with a small smile. He turned around to his dad and muttered a sorry before exiting with his 18-year-old cousin.
