It was the sound of the elevator—Aria Grant was particularly vigilant. She quickly closed her notebook and realized that by doing so, she was being too relaxed about her own alertness.
Aria wondered if she should tear up what she had just written down? If there was still time?
Seeing that the approaching person was Juliet, Aria breathed a sigh of relief—at least it wasn't someone else. If it had been a stranger, that would have really scared her.
"Why have you come up here? Is my time up, and I have to leave now?"
Aria laughed awkwardly, thinking that she really did have to leave this place, and felt a pang of reluctance.
"I was just watching you, pacing back and forth, staring into space, and thought I'd come to have a chat with you!"
At first, she felt touched, but immediately afterwards, Aria felt something was wrong. How did she know what I was doing? Could there be surveillance here?
