Chapter 38: A friend introduced to your family might become a lover.

"Yes, Yueyue! I am going to perform in Dawn Amusement Park today. How did you know?" Huang Anyi asked as her nanny van* drove to the Dawn Amusement Park when Hong Yue suddenly called her. Seeing the name of the caller, she immediately answered it without letting him wait for even a second.

Lu Weijin, Huang Anyi's manager, perked his ears up when he heard his artist say 'Yueyue'. The only person who his artist call that is none other than – "Is it Scarlet Night?!" he whispered to Song Xuqi who is driving the vehicle. He already knows that Huang Anyi is related to Scarlet Night at Haifeng Mall during the release of Huang Anyi's latest music video.

Even though Song Xuqi is the Hong family's butler, specifically Hong Yue's butler, but Hong Yue decided to live independently. So, Song Xuqi has nothing to do right now. Thus, he follows Huang Anyi instead, which Hong Yue also suggested for him to do. After all, Huang Anyi is an idol actress, which the job can also be dangerous aside from being tedious.

Song Xuqi, as a qualified butler, knows from household management to life security. So, he is fitted to be Huang Anyi's butler, instead. But, both Song Xuqi and Huang Anyi don't want to be a butler and his master. They like to be a family than a servant and his master. So, Song Xuqi would follow Huang Anyi as a family member, like today.

"Yes." Song Xuqi answered. There is only Hong Yue who Huang Anyi wouldn't let wait for even a second when he calls. Not even Huang Ziming, Huang Anyi's father, has this special treatment.

Lu Weijin immediately became excited when he heard Song Xuqi's answer. After all, Scarlet Night is a very famous BL author. He became more famous because there will be a drama adaptation for the novel Rainbow in the Shade of the Leaves, or 'Hong Ye' (rainbow leaf) for short which the fans decided since it sounds like the author's pen name.

"So, Scarlet Night is also in Dawn Amusement Park?!" Lu Weijin exclaimed. "Can I meet him there?" he cautiously asked. After all, he is not that stupid to not know that Scarlet Night also has his own privacy.

"Well… you can ask Anyi." Song Xuqi told him.

Lu Weijin's eyes brightened and he immediately turned back to Huang Anyi who is talking to Hong Yue.

Huang Anyi noticed Lu Weijin's gaze and her brow twitched. "Yueyue." She called. "Are you free later? Let's grab some snacks?" she asked and turned on the speaker of her phone to let Lu Weijin hear Hong Yue's reply.

Hong Yue, on the other side of the line, hesitated. He looked at Lan Xing who is driving their small car, smoothly avoiding the people who are crossing the road. "Sure, but… can I bring somebody with me?" he asked.

Huang Anyi, as well as Song Xuqi who heard Hong Yue's reply, froze. Fortunately, Song Xuqi's hands are steady so they didn't have an accident.

"'somebody'?" Huang Anyi and Song Xuqi muttered.

"Hm? Xuqi is with you, too?" Hong Yue asked. "That's great. The one who I am bringing is my roommate, my friend… Lan Xing, whom you two met before." He told them. "He's the one who brought me here in Dawn Amusement Park… so, let it be my treat later, okay?" he said.

"… okay." Huang Anyi answered and they ended their call. Her expression looked gloomy unlike earlier when Hong Yue called that made her look so sunny.

Lu Weijin hesitated and sat back on his seat. "Say… does my artist actually like Scarlet Night?" he asked Song Xuqi in a low voice.

Song Xuqi fell silent. This is also what he thinks, as he can see that Huang Anyi really likes Hong Yue. More than a sibling. But, Huang Anyi denies it always. Because Huang Anyi knows that Hong Yue doesn't feel that way toward her, and that Hong Yue is feeling guilty toward her for almost killing her in the past.

In short, it is impossible between them.

"No." Song Xuqi answered.

"Really?" Lu Weijin is still doubtful.

"En." Song Xuqi nodded. "My master is a brother to her. She has always taken care of my master." He explained. In short, Huang Anyi cares too much of Hong Yue.

"I see!" Lu Weijin nodded in understanding.

Song Xuqi looked at him. He already seen that Lu Weijin is a simpleton. This is really rare for an artist's manager who should be cunning and opportunistic. But, Song Xuqi thinks that a simpleton manager is good for Huang Anyi. Huang Anyi herself is smart enough to know what she wants and need. Not to mention that she is the daughter of the company's owner. So who would dare scheme against her?

"Contact Anyi's team and have them ready. We're nearing the Dawn Amusement Park." Song Xuqi told Lu Weijin.

"Okay!" Lu Weijin nodded.

Lan Xing looked at Hong Yue after he heard what he said to Huang Anyi on the phone.

Hong Yue noticed Lan Xing's gaze and smiled. "Sorry if I decided without your permission, and I know that this is too late to ask, but…" he muttered. "Are you available later?" he asked.

"Of course." Lan Xing answered as he turned his gaze back on the road. "I accompany you today, so wherever you want to go, I will go with you." He told Hong Yue.

Hong Yue's eyes brightened as he stared at Lan Xing. He felt his heart is extremely warm, as well as sweet. He knows that Lan Xing is really a good man… a good friend. Lan Xing is very considerate and conscientious, that is why Hong Yue feels guilty that he is taking advantage of Lan Xing's kindness toward him. So, Hong Yue wanted to repay Lan Xing's kindness as much as possible.

It is just Lan Xing doesn't let him. So, Hong Yue would find an opportunity as much as he could.

"Thank you." Hong Yue sincerely said. "Don't worry! Leave the foods and drinks to me later!" he told him and patted his chest to show Lan Xing that he is dependable, too!

But Lan Xing doesn't take it seriously since in his mind, Hong Yue is a poor student. That is why he planned to pay the bill later when they will eat with Huang Anyi and Song Xuqi.

Still, in order not to douse Hong Yue's enthusiasm and hurt his heart, Lan Xing nodded. "Sure!" he answered.

"Great!" Hong Yue happily smiled.
