CHAPTER THREE: STALKER PART ONE

It's been two months since that dreadful day, since the meeting. And Susan could not be more greatful that she was off the hook or so she thought.

Two months ago she had presented her resignation letter to Miller out of fear but she was unable to provide a suitable reason for her resignation and he told her to hold on to it for now if she still wishes to work with them.

She had no hope of getting promoted though.

Susan hummed to the song that was playing on the radio: Save your tears by wekend. She couldn't wait to see her dad and her brother.

Since she moved to San Francisco she only visited them on important holidays, working with a big Conglomerate isn't a walk in the pack.

She drove into the small town. Fairy cloak, it was a small town where families knew each other and Fairy Cloak was as peaceful and calm as it's name.

Susan parked her black Aston Martin by the drive way. No teenage boy had jumped out of the house to gurgle his sister so she knew he wasn't home, probably in practice.

She got her bag containing her things and the presents she bought, most of it for her brother.

She already had a key. It was past four right now, so Susan knew her dad would be in his study right now. Heading over to the kitchen, she dropped the few groceries she picked before heading to her bedroom.

************************************

His fingers graced the edges of the book, his ears perked as he heard movements in his house and with that he knew exactly who was in his house, his lips went up in a smile.

His son would never walk into his kitchen and there would be little to no noice. Normally, he would hit the fridge, and shut it loudly.

Shout his greetings then run up to his room, banging the door shut behind him.

After a few minutes, he knew someone was standing behind him, and he already recognized the faint scent of her perfume. His heart leaped in joy.

"I Know you're there" he finally said.

Susan smiled, walking into her dad study.

"Hey Dad" she hugged him from behind, wrapping her arms around his shoulders and laying a small peck on his temples.

"Moonshine" he called her by the nickname he gave her when she was born.

Susan came around, standing in front of her dad, she leaned against the window planes that over looked the backyard garden, blocking his view of the garden.

" I thought you've forgotten that you have a family" Presley teased his eldest child.

" Oh come on dad, I call and I FaceTime" Susan immediately defended her self with an excuse.

Presley arched his eyes brows and Susan knew the look so well. She sighed.

"Fine... I'm sorry, I was too busy at the office" she finally admitted.

"- but, I'm here and I'm on leave, so I'll be spending my time with you guys for a long while... At least this weekend"

Presley just smiled, he was thankful that she was here. He knew how much is daughter works, ever since he became half a man she had shouldered on his duties, and no matter how much he tried to make up for it he couldn't.

After a while they spent talking about her life in San Francisco, her work, her brother Sam, Susan decided it was time to make dinner.

**************************

Susan decided to make Lasagna, some mashed potatoes and garlic bread, and for desert she made her famous pie. it was her mom's recipe with a little modern touch she added to it.

She heard loud footsteps and the front door boomed open, Susan could immediately tell her brother's signature entrance anytime he's aware that she's home.

"Sue! Sue!" She heard him yell her name.

she decided to ignore him, and few seconds later, her brother was in the kitchen with a smile on his face, she often regarded as stupid.

"You are here?"

"No Sam, this is my ghost" she retorted at his stupid question.

He walked to her side, placing a light peck on her forehead. He looked over at what she was making. His face lit up, he loved his sister's cooking.

Susan was sure he missed her food, her dad was good at cooking, but she was great and you couldn't tell that she once hated stepping her foot into the kitchen.

She immediately smacked Sam's hand that was stretching out to get an early piece of their dinner.

"Wash your hands Sam!" She scolded her brother as he got ready to set the table.

Sam groaned in annoyance,he immediately headed up to his room to freshen up by the time he was done, the table was ready and his mouth watered in anticipation of eating his sister's food.

"You didn't tell anyone you were coming" Sam started.

" It's expected sam, Joanne is getting married, I am not going to miss it." she responded after swallowing the last morcel of food she had in her mouth.

" She not getting married until next weekend, and we thought you weren't coming, since you've pretty much abandoned us" Susan rolled her eyes at her brother's dramatic statement.

"We text everyday Sam, and I'm always busy. I didn't abandon you" Susan hated it when she's told of how less she stays with her family.

" Do you even have a life apart grom work, and I'm sure you are still single" he snided.

She growled out at him.

"Stop it both of you" Presley scolded his children.

After a few minutes of akward silence, Susan decided to lift the tension, she hated when they do this anytime she comes home and no matter how much she try to avoid it, they still come back arguing about the same thing.

"There's a duffel bag on my bed, some of the things there are for you" she said.

With that the light in Sam's eyes lit up at the sound of duffel bag. Sam knew anytime his sister came home with presents most of them belonged to him.

With that he forgot about the arguement that they just had.His sister pampered him, she always did, ever since he was Little.

"Really?" he attempted to stand up in an effort to go get his things, but the look his dad gave him told him to sit down and first finish dinner.

" You should stop spoiling him, that's why he keeps acting like this" Presley told his daughter.

"I'm not, besides who will I spend the money on, don't worry, i got you something too" she lightly teased him at the end.

**************************

Presely watched his son's excitement over what his sister had gotten him and she did get him a lot of things. From the new limited sneakers, to new and improved headphones, new clothes, wrist watch and so on.

Presley does know how much Sue cherished her brother. she was more than a sister, she became his mother.

After the accident that took his wife and his legs, his daughter was left with the burden to take care of him and her Younger brother, and every time he felt guilty for not being able to give his daughter the childhood she deserved.

She didn't go to sleepovers or class trips, or excursions. Instead she was home taking care of her brother and taking care of her paralysed father, and it wasn't like he made it any easier for her.

He was a broken and angry man after the accident. The first few years after his wife's death he was broken. He had lost everything, he lost his wife, his legs, his job, and he almost lost his children.

Everytime he saw his daughter, he saw his wife in her. They both are strong, stubborn, with a huge heart, and his daughter had to mature and become an adult overnight.

Presley knew that everytime she worked her ass off at that company it was because of them. He looked at the huge smile on his daughter's face as she watched her brother drool over the new headphone. she looked happy... Satisfied.

His daughter didn't get a chance to dream or have a dream because she had responsibilites but anytime he asked his daughter what she wanted, she always reply saying she got everything she wanted and needed. His daughter was always satisfied she had always been.

************************

Susan and Sam decided to take a night walk and as always the street was calm, except of high schoolers here and there, either going or returning from a party.

" So, how are things going with the team?" She asked to start a conversation with her brother.

"Pretty good... I might make captain."

"That great Sam, you would make a great Captain" Susan knew it.

she wasn't saying it because he was her brother... Maybe a little but her brother is the best I eveything he does.
