Chapter 52 - Significant Growth

As more weeks went by, and the seasons changed, their first year at the awakened academy was already nearing its end. Both Chris and Mark were now in the A rank class with Allana, and Krista had advanced to the B rank class. No other students had advanced into the X ranked class with Milo and Zach yet, but Chris, Mark, and Allana were all pushing for it for their second year.

As the year went on, Milo had gotten many strange quests that seemed small, and although he had the chance to, he hadn't had a need to plunder any new abilities. As he completed the quests and continued his occasional grinding at the Sim Room, his stats had grown and so had his gold balance in his shop.

All his stats had hit 30 after climbing to level 16, unfortunately without the ability to get Essence Cores, he was unable to increase his magic power stat, which in turn meant he had hit a plateau in terms of unlocking new plunder skills.

He hadn't bought anything new in the shop but had increased his gold count, his reason for not purchasing any new gear simply boiled down to trying to explain where he had obtained new gear. While he hadn't bought anything, there were a few things he had gotten as rewards for quests. He had gotten a silver ring with a black pattern etched into the side that was uncommon rated, the ring simply increased his agility stat by three points. His second piece of equipment he had been awarded was a plain black chain that he wore around his neck, it was also an uncommon rating but rather than increase his agility it boosted his constitution stat.

The final big change came as he increased his intelligence stat. As he did, it in turn allowed him to train his abilities. His main ability he used, Ice, had increased to level 5 and he was able to wield more ice spears, as well as form them much faster, his speed when making specific shapes had also significantly improved.

His Telepath ability had raised two additional levels even though he didn't use it much, allowing him to be able to read the minds of others, as well as send messages through his mind at a much larger range, as long as he could picture someone's face, he was able to speak to them from close to a kilometer away.

Finally his Reinforce ability had jumped all the way from level one all the way to four, which gave his body a significant boost when activating it. He could now harness it into one part of his body with much more ease than before as well. With his regular strength at over thirty, he was able to dent a plate of steel with ease, but when harnessing his reinforcement ability into his fist, he could punch a hole clean through the same plate.

When looking at possible abilities to copy, the only ability he would consider would be Zach's.

Overall, Milo and his friends had all made great strides in their goals. They had all grown in strength but Milo was still not satisfied.

Although he had made significant progress in all aspects aside from his Magic Power stat, that stat was the one thing holding him back from growing his system even more. That would soon change however, as there was some news the X ranked class would be learning very soon.
