After reaching the wall with one of my hands, I raise my head above the water. To my dismay, I was shocked to see that someone had already finished.

I was forced to be content with my red second-place ribbon. It was almost a depressing sight, although there were still more chances to go.

This was quite shattering for me to realise. The actual consequences of this I was still unsure of, but it seemed that there was someone else who was supposedly better than me at swimming.
