Chapter44: Serious Talk

Chase woke up to soft sunlight trickling through the crack of the bedroom curtains and shining on his face. He yawned and covered his eyes with a grumble that caused Morgan to laugh against the back of his head.

Chase turned slightly to look at him with a mock betrayed expression. Morgan smiled at him and kissed his shoulder. “Morning, love,” he rumbled as Chase rolled over to face him.

“Have you been awake long?” he asked, stifling another yawn.

Morgan hummed and pushed some of his hair behind his ear, gently rubbing his thumb over his cheek. “Not terribly long,” he responded. “You looked so peaceful so I didn't want to disturb you.”

Chase felt his cheeks heat up as he smiled at Morgan shyly. “You're so sappy,” he accused gently.

Morgan just beamed and chuckled. “Maybe so but you know you love it.”

Chase sighed dramatically and shuffled closer. “I suppose you're right,” he hummed, smiling cheekily.
