Chapter 1: Sorrow.

It is night at county S as the dark clouds illuminate the sky a shiny black Mercedes sped past the street lights, and in the black shiny Mercedes, sits a girl in the driving seat. Putting on black pencil jeans with a black turtle neck top and black ankle boot heels, and lastly a dark-coloured windbreaker because of the spring season. And on the passenger seat was her best friend aka Wang Ruoxi who was dressed in an off-shoulder, knee-length royal blue gown, wedge heels, and a black windbreaker to finish up the dressing.

"Darn, this week has been everything but relaxing. I am just so annoyed". Wang Ruoxi continues to do her makeup.

"If it weren't for you, I wanted to spend my weekend to clean, sleep, eat and be lazy, but guess what?, My best friend had to ruin it". Guo Min replied to her question.

"But we haven't seen each other this week. Tsk I was missing you, you know. Show some love sometimes at least". Ruoxi complained.

"You act like a clingy girlfriend sometimes". Guo Min pressed on the breaks which made Ruoxi's hands mess up her makeup due to the abrupt stop.

"SERIOUSLY!!! You brat of a friend, now I have to start again". Ruoxi shrieked which made Guo Min cover up her ears before mocking her "So what? With all the makeup you still haven't gotten a boyfriend yet".

"Youuuu, damn it let's go watch the movie first, After that I will handle you. HUMPH". Ruoxi pouted and stomped her foot forward walking into the cinema after wiping off the messed color on her face. Her cute attitude made Guo Min's side lips curve upward a little before following her.

"Darn, I wish I could kiss this actor right now. He is just too handsome". Ruoxi squealed and Guo Min frowned "You fall for every actor as long as he is handsome to you?".

"Humph". Ruoxi pouted at Guo Min's mocking voice. "But they are all handsome". She defended.

"Yeah right, most of them use makeup to cover up their face". Guo Min replied as she sipped her strawberry milkshake.

After some time the movie finally came to an end with the boy and the girl finally having a happy ending in love life, which made Guo Min hiss "Every movie just easily end up with a foolish happy ending".

"You don't believe in happy endings?".

Guo Min raised her brows in question as they walked towards her car"If you believe in it then remind me of a year that you are sure you didn't struggle, no matter how rich and powerful someone can be they will still end up facing something or the other".

Starting the engine of the car they drove out of the parking lot "Remind me of what Aunty said we should get for her to make dinner".

"Vegetables, chicken and beef". Ruoxi answered unconsciously as she kept scrolling down her phone because something caught her attention which made her throw worried glances at Guo Min.

Guo Min who got uncomfortable with her stares parked the car to the side before raising a brow. "Luo Shuchang is back in the city". After hearing that name she froze for a second.

That name belongs to the same person who brought happiness and at the same time brought sorrow, pain, and nightmare into her life. Just imagine the person you dreamt of spending your entire life with leaving you for another woman as if you never existed in life and dumping you like trash. It hurts like shit. That was the same pain that made her go mad, it ruined her emotionally, physically, and mentally. She wanted to die at that point but with the help of her loved ones, she pulled through.

Snapping out of her thoughts she turned to Ruoxi who looked worried and gave out her best smile before turning the car back on and driving to the grocery store.

They bought what they wanted and drove to Wang's mansion.

Guo Min parked the car in the underground garage, then they took the grocery and walked into the Wang mansion.

"Hi Mom, Hi Dad".

"Hi Aunty, Hi uncle".

The two girls were greeted when they noticed them both sitting on the couch. Mrs Wang stood up and walked to the kitchen signalling there were two girls to follow.

It was 6:40 pm already and dinner was set. All of them sat at the dinner table to eat the delicious chicken soup.

While they were having dinner Mrs Wang dropped her cutlery on her plate and then turned to the two girls with twinkling eyes. Noticing it Ruoxi and Guo Min stared at each other before planning how to run in their heads since they already knew what she was up to.

Just as they were about to make excuses, Mrs Wang said "Your brother is back already and he's coming for a visit tomorrow".

Seeing that she didn't say what they expected they sat down on their chair once again before Guo Min asked "Which brother".

"You two don't remember him?". Yun Ai (Mrs Wang) was shocked and the two shook their heads implying they did not remember having a brother.

"Mom, do I have a lost and found brother? Or was he just hiding the whole time?". Ruoxi questioned which made her mother want to facepalm herself for her daughter's stupidity.

"Poor boy was missing the both of you and you can't even remember Yufan. Seriously I need to tell him how much you girls love him".

"No, no Aunty we were just joking. We remembered him, right Ruoxi?". Guo Min pinched Ruoxi's waist under the table which made Ruoxi say yes to her mom.

Just as they thought they were free to leave Yun Ai finally threw the bomb "Ruoxi you have a blind date tomorrow evening and Minmin you are to go to the Guo mansion tomorrow evening. Your grandfather asked me to give you the message, I know it will be hard for you but please go for the sake of your family's reputation".

Guo Min and Ruoxi nodded with bitter smiles, as Ruoxi was even more worried for Guo Min than herself.

Just before they walked away to go to bed Guo Min turned back and asked "What are they celebrating to make them throw a party?".

Yun Ai really felt pity and hurt to see her second daughter in pain but still she couldn't do anything "Guo Ji and Luo Shuchang are about to reveal their relationship and they also want to celebrate the fact that Shuchang is finally taking over the company".
