Chapter 28. A Day With The Alpha

My eyes followed the trail where Chad has taken and his footsteps fading behind the trees and tall grasses surrounding the deep forest of the cold mountain pack. Then I look at my arm which Alpa Xander is holding, the warmth he exudes making me aware of his virility as a man and a powerful wolf. I gulp down a lump in my throat before looking up at him to meet his gaze. I am cowering with the awareness of his controlled anger.
"My father permitted me to be a part of this investigation so that means I can go with you to the prisoners! Why are you making this a huge deal, I can handle whatever is in that prison if you are worried about my mental issues."
My voice almost crack and I started feeling a little tingly when his hand did not move from holding my arm.
