Goner

More and more dragons ca into the cave of Saphire. There were at least four thousand or so there now. Each dragon seemed to be a separate entity that didn't have any connection whatsoever to the other dragons in the cave. It was like each dragon had been created from an entirely different set of materials. And yet they all shared the same body structure.

Lance didn't know what to do with it all. The fact that a lot of these dragons could talk only made him even more confused. Why would he care about talking dragons? He wasn't here to learn about them. He didn't want to be friends with them either. He just wanted to destroy them. Why is everyone so interested in them anyway?

Why are we here? Is it for sport? To prove we're tougher than them? To kill them before they killed us. Lance thought this was ridiculous, and yet he couldn't help but wonder where this fascination might come from.
