The Confrontation

Louise stormed in with two men by his side.

He pointed at Amy Lee and me, continuing to rant about us, "Adarna, they are not what they seem. Your daughter had always asked me to help keep terrible people away from you. Please, for your daughter's sake, listen to me."

"My daughter?" Adarna shook her head, unable to believe that Louise still dared to speak of her.

"Yes, Christina, your loving daughter, my beloved wife. Even though she's not around, I vowed to take good care of you for her." Louise put his hands together, as if begging Adarna to trust him, for Christina's sake.

Adarna's hand gripped harder and harder at the chair's handle.

She couldn't believe what she was witnessing.

With her body shaking from Louise's blatant lie, she slowly stood up.

I quickly went over and helped her steady herself.

She turned and nodded at me, thanking me.
