My Last Hunt

[Check out my #WSA story 'The Player's System'] A wicked and greedy hunter who intentionally triggered the broken morgue in search of treasure. He was cursed by the aura of death. Being the high level hunter he was given a chance to cast this curse onto someone else and save himself. He disguised himself in an old woman and stopped a youth walking on the street. To be college student and getting good grades is not enough if you cannot hunt monsters. Bam* “I am your opponent and enemy, you have choice whether to level up or face brutal death in front of your younger sibling. I choose you as my target to sacrifice in place of my mistake and crime. I have offended the ancient sacred soul of Hunter Monarch." “What, why and why in front of younger sibling? How do you know him and who the hell are you?" The youth was forced to drag through the portal and enter in unknown world. (Note: if you are fan of OP MC from the very start of the story then you should not try this.) Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 3)

Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 3)

Qiao still had much more spoils to spend, so he went toward the fifth exit of the Middletown.

He thought he would visit the market today and if he could find a proper guide book, he could get to reading it in the evening.

But then a problem appeared in front of him. He didn't understand the letters of this world. It was a different alphabet than what he was accustomed with.

He would have to find a way to solve this problem he thought. In his thoughts he walked on a paved pathway as he reached the fifth exit. He found that this exit was actually the entrance to the big market.

There were all kinds of weapon present here in the bigger shops, while many other shops were selling miscellaneous objects. But before he could start searching for what he was looking for, something caught his ears. He heard a shopkeeper shouting loudly,

"If you want to learn a skill, just buy this Stone of Soul, and needing to read through thousands pages of a guide book," he was hawking nonstop.

Qiao immediately walked towards this shopkeeper,

"Is there such a simple way to learn a skill without needing to read it? If it is true then I have to take a look," he murmured and decided to see what the man was selling.

The shopkeeper saw the man lured by his shouts and smiled showing his extraordinary yellow teeth, "Come here young man, see this stone, you will never regret buying it," his scheming tone was working its gears quick as he started formulating plans to make sure this young guy bought this stone from.

This shop could not even be called a proper shop. It was just a stall where the hawker put some stones tried to bait people to buy from him.

Qiao was not very confident about these stones as he arrived near. Also his knowledge about the stones was limited, it was quite possible that the hawker was trying to scam people especially those who were new to this market.

It was by nature that a newbie would always stand out in a crowd of experienced people. The old guy was probably scamming by looking at his appearance.

Now that Qiao thought, such an amazing stone should not be sold by a stall owner.

But still he considered that as long as he refrained from buying mindlessly and without being duped it was fine to explore.

"I can see that you will become a strong hunter in the future, these stones will help you a lot on your journey," he saw Qiao reaching to the stall and started to flatter him.

Qiao casted a thorough glance at the stones placed in different positions strangely. For example, one of the stone which was emitting a light mixed of juniper, shamrock and rouge shades. It was placed in a pot of clay and still its colors were breaking through the water.

Seeing his interest toward this specific stone, the hawker cleared his throat and explained, "Um, this one has its own purpose. Like if you wanted to bait a female monster into a trap-net, then this stone could help greatly. But it is only for level five or above monsters," the hawker said and only then Qiao realized that he had no such need.

"You voiced for a stone which could let a hunter learn a skill, which one is it?" Qiao asked.

"Oh, I see. You want to get the Stone of Soul," the hawker started looking in the rows of stones for the specific stone.

The stone of soul was famous in this world because of its ability to let a newbie or anyone learn the skill without having to wreak their brain for it.

But it can only give the knowledge of one certain skill which was stored. Whether to practice, learn and use this skill was up to the hunter.

Only through practice, could the hunter master in it.

This kind of stone has three grades. From level one to three, a chaser can use grade one Stone of Soul for any of the five skills. From level four to seven, a hunter can use grade two stone of soul and grade three was for the upper level hunters.

There were only five skills in this world for the hunters. Trap skill, Agility skill, Observation skill, Aura skill and the Power skill.

These skills had no levels, and could only be upgraded with the increase in the levels of the hunter.

"You seem to be a newbie so if you want to buy a stone for a skill, I would suggest you to buy the agility skill soul stone. Since the newbies are always exposed to danger in the forest, the agility will help you to run for your life," the hawker scrutinized young man from head to toe and then gave his suggestion.

He was trying to remain true and honest while selling his stones else the newbie would never bother to see his stall in future.

His discerning eyes had already seen through his future.

Qiao was a little bit thankful that because this hawker has a habit of talking non-stop, he got some useful information about the stones. His problem was also solved as now he don't need to learn the letter and read through the papers for learning the skills.

As for how this hawker was able to get these useful stones or whether they were actually valuable was another story.

The hawker was a level five hunter actually and during his years of hunting, he gathered some useful stones for the exchange so he set this stall. These stones were precious but only level one grade so he could not exchange them for buying anything of high price.

If he could rope few newbies and exchange them at a high price, then it would be all fine business for him, that's why he set this stall.

He wasn't scamming in regards for the product, but about the price it was a different story.

[Author note: All the skills will be mentioned and explained in the future chapters, keep your interest high and don't lose your tie, lol]
