Entering Drake's cabin, Julianna stood at one corner by the door and watched the man walk around his desk as he placed the books in his hand on it and pulled his chair out to sit.
'Damn, how can someone be this handsome. Professor Drake looks like a runway model'
Julianna shamelessly stared at Drake, defining his beauty a millionth time in her mind. He was just as handsome as Lucian and those glasses over his eyes made him look so appealing.
Drake was about to take the sit when he noticed Julianna. She was still standing in the same spot with her eyes staring at him in terror.
'Why is she looking at me like this? Do I look that scary or did she notice something different in me' Drake thought eyeing Julianna with a doubtful look.
"Miss James is something wrong with my face," he asked and sat on the chair with his eyes amusingly looking at the girl who still didn't bother to flutter her lashes.
Julianna who was entirely immersed in her thoughts slowly began to withdraw from her world when she saw his lips curled into a smile and it was then she realized how shamelessly she was staring at him.
Blush crept through her cheeks tainting them pink and she quickly lowered her head as she tried to hide her awkwardness.
Smiling at her reaction, Drake shook his head in amusement. This was the second time, this girl had lightened his mood in the true sense. Something he thought he would never feel again.
Looking at her embarrassed face, Drake dropped the idea of pulling her leg and hop straight into his task.
"Okay let's not waste our time in getting your answer because I know that I am good looking.." praising himself he further said," So let's drop the awkwardness and please have a seat
Julianna shot her head in his direction and watched him point the chair in front of her. She couldn't believe the man was so self-obsessed that he didn't mind praising himself and that too in front of his student.
Tucking the piece of her hair behind her ear, Julianna tried to hide her blush as slowly walked toward the desk and took the seat.
A moment of silence engulfed the two with Julianna starting to get nervous thinking about what reasons she would give in her defense.
Looking down at her shaking feet, Julianna cursed herself the moment she decided to leave her ankle brace at home just because it didn't pain.
"So Miss James, now that you are here, would you like to elaborate on what made you hide from me" Drake maintained his smile as he began to speak. He didn't want to make the girl more nervous than she already was.
Julianna snapped her attention to Drake and watched him smile. Though she was smitten by that beautiful beam, still it didn't calm her heart.
'Will he believe me if I tell him I skipped the class because I was late and to save myself from any punishment, I decided to hide or...' her chain of thoughts broke when Drake spoke in between.
"Is there any valid reason or should I assume you purposely skipped the class because you didn't like the subject" Drake expressed his thoughts with a hurtful face.
"Huh! No No… I didn't skip the class on purpose, Professor Drake." Julianna quickly replied.
'Who would want to ignore such a tempting view' she thought to herself but didn't speak.
Julianna had always loved to attend Drake's class because he would make the subject so appealing that she would end up enjoying it.
"Then what is the reason, Miss James," Drake asked as he tried to analyze her action. His words were somewhat making her feel guilty.
'Such an innocent Kitten' Drake was so easily able to read her thoughts through her expression.
Julianna pursed her lips when he again repeated the same. 'Why can't he let me go without any explanation'
"No answer, then I think I should assign you with severe punishment" his word made her eyes pop out of her socket as she watched him in shock.
"Punishment," she asked as she gulped her anxiousness.
"Yes, punishment. Since you aren't ready to answer then I must give you some punishment just so you don't repeat the same mistake"
Leaning back in his seat, Drake slowly rubbed his chin while his eyes narrowed a little as his mind began to run with thoughts.
"Hmm.. how about I make you run the field. It will be a good workout for you since you like running"
Julianna's jaw dropped at his suggestion. 'Run a field. Does he wants to break my leg that is already sprained'
"No professor I can't do that. I have already sprained my leg yesterday in the canteen how can I run with my broken leg" Julianna spilled in her defense as she didn't want to hurt her leg again now that it was slowly healing.
'There she goes' Drake smiled mentally and leaned forwards showing off his concerned face as he asked," Why? What happened to your leg Miss James and how didn't you sprain it"
Julianna felt like a bucket full of water was thrown on her face the moment Drake question her on how she sprained her leg and suddenly felt like crying.
She had been very cautious about this topic knowing how violent her stepmother and sister would turn to her, the moment Remy's vicious act gets exposed.
'Hell will break loose' her subconscious mind spoke out of nowhere making her feel even more terrible.
"Hmm.. that... " Julianna started biting her lips as she tried to rack her brain to come up with a lie.
"I slipped on the wet floor in the canteen area. Which.. is why I got s sprained leg"
Drake arched his brow and his face turned dark. 'Lair lair pants on fire' he told himself when he saw how plainly Julianna lied on his face.
"But I heard, so students tried to bully you and that's... the reason why you got hurt and sprained your leg" Drake finished and watched all the color withdraw from her face as she turned pale at his revelation
Julianna:"..."
"Am I right Miss James?" this time she didn't see him flash his million-dollar smile and that made her lips twitch as she fight her tears.
