Helping My Mom Overcome Her Fears

After their talk, both of them went downstairs. Time went by and Toga stayed for dinner. She was happy for some reason. Izuku guessed it had to do with the mission. Maybe she was glad that she found someone to talk to, maybe she was just glad about the sheer amount of food they gave her.

When Inko and Toga talked about some stuff, Izuku made sure she wouldn't ask something dangerous because Toga-san will probably answer everything, including murdering people.

Inko made some delicious looking desserts, but Izuku forbade her from participating in their little feast. She already had an entire cake this morning and still wanted more desserts. Inko started sobbing until Toga comforted her.

Izuku looked at the amount of fat she had on her body and couldn't help but shake his head.

'I can't just let her die from overeating, she needs to go on a diet and start exercising at once, or else something might really happen to her.'

Izuku truly cared for his mom, as she was really kind to him. Izuku appreciated kindness from people and if someone was kind to him, he would return it tenfold. He didn't want his mom to die from being too fat. He knew it sounded bad, but he would rather be bad to her now, than to see her suffer in the future because of diabetes. There were tons of cases lately, where people used their quirks for everything and didn't want to use their actual bodies for stuff. Inko was one of them.

Moreover, she already ate desserts earlier when Toga came. As a punishment Izuku made Toga eat all of the desserts so that his mom wouldn't be able to eat any.

'I am a horrible huma-not. It's ajin now I guess. At least I suspect it could be called a race. It's only a theory but I liked the sound of it. 'I am not a human... But an Ajin!' yeah that sounds cool. Like a line from a hero movie. I might actually use it in the future.

As he was having his inner monologue, Inko silently went towards the fridge again. Did she think he was blind or something?

"MOM!" Izuku shouted.

"Wh-What... Izuku... I need to taste the dessert, please let me." Inko pleaded.

Izuku thought for a while before replying, "Fine, okay. Eat all you want."

Inko's eyes gleamed in excitement, "Are you sure?! Thank you Izuku dear!!" she said that and immediately took out 3 plates full of desserts from the fridge.

Izuku turned around and went into his room. Toga followed him closely behind with a weird look on her face.

"Izuku? I don't understand. Why did you allow her to eat, when you forbade her from eating earlier? I am confused."

"Don't worry about it, I have a plan, just wait outside for a bit will ya? I need to make a call." saying that, he closed the door, picked up his phone and dialed a certain number.

"Hello All Might, am I interrupting something?"

"No, I am quite free right now, what do you need young Midoriya? Do you have a problem?"

"No. Well, actually...Yes. I want to ask you for a favor."

"Oh sure anything for my pupil. I am listening."

"So. It's like this..."

After a couple of minutes, the door to Izuku's room opened revealing him in high spirits.

Himiko was just as confused as before and asked, "So...Who did you call?"

Izuku smiled and replied, "All Might, ehm... Basically the old man that's everywhere in my room."

"Oh... I see. But...why?"

Toga felt a bit restless. Izuku was talking about this best hero or whatever all day long and she was afraid that he called him to arrest her.

"I plan on letting my mom suffer a terrible fate called jogging. I also asked All Might for some simple exercises for her. But it would be impossible for her to complete them, without any motivation. So, I asked All Might for a favor. He will visit our house tomorrow when I will be out training on the beach. He will say stuff like "I admire your son and I want to train him blah blah blah." after that, I will come home and accept his invitation. I will also ask him whether he could give my mom some tips and stuff while unknowingly forcing her to exercise. She wouldn't be able to refuse as she knows very well who All Might is and wouldn't want to disappoint her son! Brilliant right?" Izuku said with stars in his eyes.

Himiko wasn't sure how to answer so she just nodded silently.

"I am pretty sure it will work, but if it doesn't, then it's over." Izuku sighed.

Himiko laughed and said, "You are talking about it like it's something serious. Don't worry, even if it doesn't work I am pretty sure your mom is pretty comfortable with herself right now. If she wasn't, then she would put some effort into exercising. I don't think it's a good idea to force stuff like this."

"Hah... Let's leave it at that for now. Anyway, do you have a good place to stay? If not, then you may stay in one of the guest rooms. It's free since almost no one stays over." Izuku said.

Himiko nodded and replied, "Yes, I have my grandma's house. It's a pretty nice place, but I can't cook for myself so please prepare some food for me!"

"Sure, I don't mind."

"So...do we meet at the beach or do you want to meet somewhere else?"

'Wait... Is this supposed to be a date?! No. I can't be sure if she even knows what that means.'

Izuku nervously scratched his hair and replied, "S-Sure... How about this, let's meet at the beach at my usual spot and then, we can go to a great dessert shop. Trust me, cakes from there are the best!"

"Cakes! Sure! How about 9 am?"

"Sure"

We both talked for a bit, before going down the stairs. Toga-san said goodbye to Izuku and Inko and left the place for good. When she left, Inko tried to tease him about who he liked the most from the three girls Izuku knew, but once he told her she was fat, he gained a momentary peace.

Izuku took a quick shower and laid down on his bed. He looked into his inventory and there, he saw 2 keys. There were many things in his inventory but those 2 keys were his top priority.

"I need to figure this out by tomorrow. Haah... the path to becoming a hero sure is hard. But it's weird, I don't feel the excitement I felt when I was little... Do I even want to be a hero anymore?" he silently thought to himself while clutching All Might's bed sheets.
