Characters: Ruth, Antoinette and Waiter
(As they sit, Ruth calls the waiter and they order for drink)
Waiter: Good afternoon please you are welcome. What can we offer you?
Ruth: Get me a glass of orange juice and get her one plate of fried rice.
Antoinette: Eeeerm please no!!!! (She speaks disturbingly) I'm fine.
Ruth: Okay please you get her the same thing.
Waiter: Alright. Thank you
Ruth: Antoinette so what did u say the problem is? I'm all ears.
The waiter brings the drink on the table.
Ruth: Thank you
(Antoinette takes the drink and have a sip)
Antoinette: Are u sure u really wanna know? (Antoinette asked Ruth with despair)
Ruth: Like seriously!!!! (Ruth angrily asked Antoinette) Why do u think I left my son at the school and drove here? Do u think we came here for jokes and pleasantries? Please be serious and start talking.
Antoinette: So u left your son at the school just because of me? Ooooh my dear I'm so grateful. But eeeeerm... it's about my.... (Antoinette puts up a long face)
Ruth: Talk to me Antoinette... Is it about your landlord? Is your rent due?
Antoinette: Naaaaaa far from that.
Ruth: Then what is it? (Ruth asked impatiently)
Antoinette: Just be patient. It's my fiance.
Ruth: Hmmmmn I thought as much. (Ruth takes a sip of the drink)
Antoinette: Please don't be sarcastic.
Ruth: Alright, so tell me what exactly the problem is.
Antoinette: (Bust into tears)
Ruth: Sorry my dear. Please take heart. (Antoinette consoles her friend Ruth, gives her some tissue to wipe her tears)
Antoinette: He's a bully, heartbreaker, a cheat and a beast. (Antoinette calls her fiance awful names with anger) He did worse things to me and the most painful part of the whole show is that he sent me parking. I have nowhere to go. I'm jobless and hopeless. I almost beg people for money to feed on.
Ruth: Oooh my God!!! How is that possible? So how do u survive? Where do u live?
Antoinette: I sleep in a small kiosk around the school where I met you.
Ruth: Preposterous!!!! (She exclaims impatiently and hits her hand on the table)
Antoinette: Yeah. That's what I can do to help myself for now.
Ruth: Some men are impossible. How can you treat a woman like this?
(Ruth silently asked herself in low tone) eeeerm I'm so sorry for that take heart(Ruth consoles her) I'll have to figure out something first. Kindly manage this for me. (Ruth dashes her some money)
Find a hotel and lodge in for some days. I'll get back to you in no time. Make sure you give me a call when you exhaust the money.
Wisdom sits alone at the school's entrance feeling worried later in the day around 5pm. The security man comes to him.
Security man: Hi Wisdom
Wisdom: Hello uncle, has my mom called? She has kept very late. I'm very hungry.
Security man: Oooh poor boy. (He enters the guard room and brings out some biscuits and drink for Wisdom. Have this?
Wisdom: Thank you uncle. Please can you call my mom for me?
Security man: Okay let me bring my phone. (He enters the room and brings out his phone)
Wisdom: The number is 0244778***
Security man: Okay let me try and see. (The number you dialled cannot be reached at the moment, please try again later)
Wisdom: Is it ringing? (He asked impatiently)
Security man: No!!! It's not going through.
Wisdom: Okay!! Then try my dad's
Security man: Okay let me have the number.
Wisdom: 0200200***
Security man: It's ringing (He smiles) Have it
Wisdom: Okay. Hello dady. Where are you? Please come and pick me mommy is has not come yet.
Alex: Ooooh my God I'm coming don't go anywhere. (Alex quickly rushed to the school)
Wisdom: Okay dady. Bye. (He hands over the phone to the security man)
Security man: Is he coming?
Wisdom: Yes, he said he's coming.
Security man: Okay sit down.
Few minutes later Alex got to the school.
Wisdom: Yeah he's coming. That's his car.
Alex: I'm so sorry my boy. How are you?
Wisdom: I'm fine. Where is mom?
Alex: Eeeerm let me take you home first.
(He thanks the security man for taking care of him and dashes him some money)
Security man: Thank you sir.
They drive off to the house.
