Chapter Thirty Three: Road Trip

Jonah sighed again and buried his face in his hands.

“I know it doesn’t mean anything to you but Christmas is a big deal in my family. If I don’t come home, they might get so freaked out they come here and check in on me!” Jonah grumbled.

“Oh, I’m sorry, you’re right. Let’s totally ask the school if they’ll give us some additional time off of school to save your demon girlfriend. Or better yet, let’s call up Lucifer and see if he can just mozy on over here and drop Mazakin off. We can all grab some beers, it’ll be great,” Nick responded, rolling his eyes. Jonah groaned again. “Look if you don’t want to go, I’m not going to make you. It’s your mortal soul with Lucifer on the line, your girlfriend’s life at stake.”

Nick shrugged and continued to carefully fold clothes and shoved them back in his small black backpack.
