A friend that will last forever

A child growing up with his best friend is very memorable event in his youth. Xu Wei, the son of a butcher, is betrothed with a girl named San Yue, the daughter of a businessman. Their family has been friends for generations starting from their forefathers.

The time they start to gain knowledge about this world, they became closer like sworn siblings. They play, laugh, cry, and learn together like a real sibling. Sometimes, other mistook them as a twin. Both of their parents treated them as their biological child.

One day, Xu Wei is running towards the small hill at the back of their house to meet San Yue who was reading below a tree on the hill. When he reached the hill, he tapped San Yue's shoulder while showing the candy on his hand.

San Yue smiled at him while picking the candy on his hand. "Where did you get this?" She asked him while eating the candy after she took it off from the wrapper.

He sat beside her while crossing his legs. "Uncle Fan gave my brother these candies for helping him cutting the dead tree he found in the woods but brother doesn't want it."

"Have you learned how to count numbers?" She asked him while munching the candies.

He stood up and run. While running, he said, "No, it's boring. I don't want to study."

She shook her head and put down her book on the grass. She walked down the hill and picked a dandelion on a flower field. She run towards him and put a dandelion behind her ears while saying, "Xu Wei, I'll accompany you forever and take care of you."

He picked the dandelion on his ears. "Take this flower, I'll look like a girl." he frowned and run downhill while leaving her alone on the top of the hill.

After he left and nowhere to be seen, a shed of tear flow on her cheeks while saying, "Xu Wei, you're a fool." she wiped her tears and took her book and walk downhill.

As the sun shined and new morning has come, Xu Wei ran towards San Yue's house but he found out, her family is packing their personal stuffs. Xu Wei ran to San Yue, who was packing her things. His tears flowed in his cheeks. "Are you really going to leave me alone?"

San Yue laughed at him. "No, I won't leave you. I'll visit you, don't worry."

He hugged her tightly. "Don't forget me." he said to her. "I promise I'll study well so you don't have to worry about me."

She smiled and patted his head. "I'm looking forward to that."

That same day, San Yue's family left their village. Xu Wei study hard from that day and hoping that San Yue will come back soon and praise him for his improvement.

He always look at the window every day while waiting for her return but summer, winter, spring and fall come and passed, San Yue never returned. Her father calls them every month but when he asked where is she, her father told him that San Yue doesn't want to talk to him, but he never loses hope.

Couple of years has passed but San Yue never visited him until one day, he got an admission letter from a college school which is near to San Yue's place.

A month later, he fled from home to an unknown city which he never been. He looked for her address; he almost lost his way until he found her address. He stood at the front of their door and rang the doorbell.

Their house is huge villa and Xu Wei can't believe it, he thought he was seeing a huge castle. When a servant opened the gate, he asked him what's his intention and he answered that he was looking for San Yue.

The servant hold the gate start to close the gate while saying, "Sorry, sir. I think you're mistaken."

Xu Wei showed him a paper with her address and speak, "But this is her right address." he told the servant. Still, the servant kept closing the gate but he blocked it. "I need to speak with San Yue." he told him again. But the servant pretends he didn't hear him until a young lady at his back.

"Uncle Wu, who's in the gate?" A sweet voice stopped the servant from closing it.

Xu Wei recognised her voice even couple of years has passed. He shoved the gate and run towards her and hugged her tightly. "San Yue, why you didn't visited me?"

The girl blinked and hugged him back. "Xu Wei?"

Xu Wei's tears rushing on his face but he wiped it. "You finally remembered me." he let go of her finally after hugging her for too long.

San Yue tapped his shoulder and shown him the candy in her hands while smiling at him. "Xu Wei, do you want some?"

When the servant notices that the daughter of his master is in a good state, he left them for privacy. Xu Wei took the candy on her hand and ate it. "You really remembered me."

She smiled at him while holding his hand and walked inside the house. When they reached the house, her father saw him and he walked towards Xu Wei. "Xu Wei, is that you?" he asked him.

Xu Wei nod with a smile on his face. "Nice meeting you again, uncle." he greeted him.

Her father, San Dong, asked him to be seated. The servants take a cold drink for him and they left right away after serving it. San Yue sat beside his father while his father looked at her while sitting. After she finally sat on the couch, San Dong looked at Xu Wei. "I heard that you received an admission letter, congratulations. I bet your parents are really happy for you." he praised him.

"Yes, Uncle, thank you very much." he said while his face was full of joy. He looked at San Yue who's smiling at him since earlier.
