He Is In Love With Me

Maya's POV

Adonis sends me home while Rich and Ariana take Lisa. I can't stop myself feeling so happy, and I realize being his girlfriend will not be easy, but I chose him. I am ready to deal with whatever hardships I have to face as long as we are together. He stopped his truck in front of our house, and the neighborhood is so quiet now, and I know we are the only ones awake at this hour. He leaned his back at his pickup, while he takes me into his arms.

"Maya, thank you for making me so happy, I don't want to go home yet, I prefer to spend more time with you." He said, and I smiled at him.

"Me too, Adonis, but it is getting late, you need to rest." I said.

"Yeah, and you require more rest than me, I think this time I can sleep soundly, you keep me awake most of the night when I was away, I can't stop thinking about you. And now that you are my girlfriend, at last, I have peace of mind." He spoke, and he cupped my face, and he leaned down and captures my lips. He smells of peppermint mixed with his cologne. I love the way he kisses me, and I felt so elated.

"Goodbye, Babe." He said, and I looked at him, and I can't stop myself from giggling. He called me Babe, and I find the endearment so sweet.

"Good night, Adonis!" I said, and he kissed me one more time before he returned to his car, and he waved his hand to me before he drives away. I tiptoed in going inside my room, I undressed the beautiful dress given to me by Adonis, and I put on my pajamas. I cleaned my face with a facial cleanser and I slowly get into the bed with a wide smile on my face.

"Wow! You are beaming, it means something good happens." Mary startled me with her comments, I thought she was already sleeping.

"Yes, guess what?" I asked her and she is beaming.

"Don't keep me waiting, Maya, you know me, I can't stand the suspense." She said while she is staring at me.

"Adonis is now my boyfriend." I declared, and she looks so happy, and she keeps herself from screaming since I recognize my sister, if it is only day time I am sure she is screaming right now.

"I am so thrilled for you, sister, see? All your worries were useless, I told you, Adonis loves you, I am sorry if I advised you to give some young men in San Antonio a chance, but I felt deep in your heart, you can never give up, Adonis." She said.

"Mind you, I listened to your advice, and I kissed Christopher." I declared, and Mary's eyes widened while she covers her mouth with her hands.

"Are you serious? And if you kissed Chris, why you end up being Adonis's girlfriend?" She asked, confused, and I informed her about what happened at the party, and she looks so thrilled about it, I also told her about Adonis's mom.

"Wow! How I wish I was there to witness the show." She declared and I laugh.

"Well, at least Adonis, finds himself, and he is now showing his true colors towards you, and I am sure gone is the arrogant Adonis. I know he likes you, that is why he was trying to cover up his feelings for you with snarky remarks. And in return you hate him, and Adonis is so lucky because no matter how he drives you mad, you are still crazy about him. But are you sure about your decision?" She asked, and I nodded.

"I am happy for you, Maya, I just wish Madam Kriselda will give Adonis a chance to be happy, and I am afraid she will do something to hurt our family." She said, and I understand my sister's worries.

"Don't worry, Mary, I will protect you, and our entire family, I know she could be so intimidating, but I don't consider she can punish us. I don't expect the twin's mother could be so cruel." I declared, and she acknowledged.

"I am happy for you, Maya, and don't bother I am here to back you up. If Madam Kriselda will do something to our family, let us show Adonis's mom we are not afraid of her." She answered and I nodded.

"I am sorry if I try to ruin your happiness by reminding you about his mom, you deserve to be happy, Maya." She spoke again.

"Good night." She added.

"It is okay, good night, Mary." I replied, and I felt my phone vibrated on top of my drawer and I stand up, and I can't stop myself from smiling when I look at the number of Adonis on the screen, and I leave our room at once, and I went to the small garden in front of our house. I can feel the coldness of the summer midnight, and I shiver, but I ignored feeling cold because I am so excited to answer Adonis.

"Hey! Babe!" He said, and I felt like I am on cloud nine.

"Hello, Adonis." I replied.

"I want to send you a text message, but I can't stop myself from calling you, I miss you already, Maya, I hope I didn't disturb you, and please don't laugh at me." He declared.

"Why should I laugh at you when I go through the same way too, it is not funny, Adonis, I love it that you miss me." I said, and I am shocked that I am talking to him about what my heart wants to say.

"Wow! I felt so happy that you get the same way, Babe, and I just want to let you know, from the time I realized I like you, I have been missing you, I think you should know about it." He said.

"Thank you for letting me know, Adonis, well, I guess you should also perceive that I have been missing you since I was in fourth grade until now." I said, and he laughs.

"Look at you, you are laughing at me now, I am serious Adonis, I do." I declared, and I wonder why I became so honest with Adonis, and it seems I want him to know everything about me, now that I am his girlfriend.

"That is touching, Maya, and I felt so honored that you feel that way towards me. Thank you, babe, for making me so happy." He replied.

"Me too, you make me so delighted, and tonight you made my dream come true, that is my forever dream, to become your girlfriend." I said.

"How I wish I am with you right now, Maya, so I can kiss you." He spoke, and I felt my face blush, and I can't stop thinking about the kiss we shared at the terrace of the Monleon's mansion, and I suddenly touched my lips because I want Adonis to kiss me again.

"You can kiss me tomorrow." I said, and I covered my mouth when I realized I am flirting with my boyfriend.

"Wow, you are making me so excited about it, Maya, and it seems I can't sleep now thinking about that kiss, and you are right, Maya, I will kiss you tomorrow, and it would be a long kiss, so you should be ready." He said, and I can't stop myself from giggling.

"I don't want you to have eye bags, so I will let you have a sleep now, great night again, babe." He said.

"Good night, Adonis." I said.

"And, Maya?" He sought on the other line, and it seems I am not the only one who wants to continue talking, and I felt so delighted that now I know his actual feelings for me.

"Yes, Adonis?" I replied.

"Don't you prefer to call me, babe?" He proposed, and I grinned.

"Of course, I wish to." I responded.

"Okay, wonderful night again and sweet dreams." Adonis said.

"Good night, babe." I responded.

"Wow, I can't wait to hear that word coming from you in person, I love it, babe." He said, and he hangs up the phone, and I get inside the house grinning like a fool. I fall asleep thinking and dreaming about Adonis Monleon, my longtime crush, and now he is finally my boyfriend.

It is Monday again, and when I am about to bring my bike on the road, I found Adonis standing beside his pickup truck, and he crossed his arms over his chest. I can't stop myself to feel butterflies in my stomach, and I can't help but flush because he is staring at my face without blinking.

"Good morning! Do I have something on my face?" I asked, and he smiled.

"Nothing, babe, I am just looking at you since I can't believe you are mine now." He answered, and I suddenly felt so conscious.

"You don't need to feel shy, Babe, you are very beautiful, and you have to be proud of yourself." Adonis said, and I raised my eyebrow.

"Why? You don't believe me when I say you are gorgeous and super hot?" He claimed, and I looked at him in the eyes.

"Yes, because you are the first person who declared I am not beautiful, don't tell me you have forgotten about it?" I urged, and it saddened his face.

"About that, you know I was lying, right? You can look at your reflection in the mirror, Babe, and what you can see is a charming young woman." He said, and he holds my hand and squeezed it.

"So, now that I am your girlfriend, can you at least tell me honestly why you were so furious with me that time?" I asked as I settled inside his truck after he put my bike at the back of his pickup.

"Okay, you deserve to know the truth since we are now a couple I don't want to lie to you, Maya. I was angry with you because of what happened during my grandfather's birthday celebration. The reason we left the following morning after the party because I begged my mom. It hurt me when I saw you so close with Rich." He said, and he maneuvers his truck going to the Hernandez Hacienda.

"I can't confront Richard about your relationship, all I know that time is I don't want to see you, and I hate you so much with unknown reason, and it was all clear to me now, I was so jealous at that moment, and I realized it was because I was falling in love with you, Maya." He added, and I felt so overwhelmed with too much happiness because I know that Adonis is in love with me.
