Vol 1: Ch 37 - Kids and Rei bonding
"Kids I said no running"
"Oops, sorry Auntie!"
"Bro Ken / Sis / Ellyn faster, we're hungry already"
"You just eat a snack one hour ago" Ken retorted.
"It's nothing compare to meals"
"Silly" Ellyn commented.
Rei put the foods on the table and put aside the tray where the staff can easily keep it without disturbing them eating. Rei just seat opposite them and ask the staff who just got passed from them.
"Can you give me 5 plates, please?
"Yes, Ms. Rei" get the plates then give them to Rei. "Here are your plates Ms. Rei"
"Thanks"
Rei distributing the plates to the kids first, placing half rice in each of them, dividing the pork and chop suey then opening their bottles first followed by her foods and bottle.
"Let's dig in now and chew it very well, okay?"
"Uh-uh"
"Rei, can I join you?"
"Yes, Mrs. Min you can join us"
"Thanks"
Her assistant Mr. Do is sitting and eating where his friends are and Mrs. Min just happens to see Rei where she seated and asks if she can join them. Rei just agreed, introduce the kids and telling them how she relates to the kids.
"Kids this is Mrs. Min, your Auntie mentor during my One Month Internship here, and Mrs. Min these are my nephews Ken and Ren while my nieces Ellyn and Lynel"
Pause awhile and greet her "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Min"
"Nice to meet you too kids" 'so the kids are nephews and nieces of Rei. And here we are the others who envy Rei just speculating something else to ruin her reputations' while thinking of it, the kids suddenly stand and say thanks to her with a gesture of how they say thanks in J Country and T Country way.
"Mrs. Min, thank you for taking care of Auntie Rei, as her Mentor"
Ken and Ren thanking her in the T country ways by bowing 45 degrees with their right hands on the chest while Ellyn and Lynel thanking her also in J country ways by bowing 45 degrees only. Mrs. Min who caught off guard and doesn't know why they act like this because mostly the kids are just thanking sincerely without any kind of gestures but these kids have and are already too sincere.
Rei observes Mrs. Min and explains why they are like that "Mrs. Min if you don't mind, my nieces and nephews just arrive 3 days ago, so they still not adjusted here and just thanking you in J Country and T Country ways."
"Oh, so that's why. But how come they are fluent in Ceno dialect?"
"They were born full Ceno Citizen and the two boys born half Ceno Citizen but grow up in the different country but their parents never fail to teach them what their mother tongue dialect is so that's they were all fluent in our dialect."
"Oh, that's good and Rei you must continue eating while having a chat with me"
"Yes, Mrs. Min"
Meanwhile, the moment Mrs. Min approaches her, their fellow co-workers are now talking about them.
"Geez, this s-l-u-t, how come she tames the strictest senior Mrs. Min and we know how strict she is, right?"
"For you to know Mrs. Min was a mentor of Ms. Rei during her internship so that's why"
"Yeah we know but then how come I'm not so close to Mrs. Min when she also my mentor?"
"Me too, Mrs. Min was my mentor also. I bribed her but she didn't accept it instead she punished me."
"That's right and same here, I'm an heiress but how come I got beaten by that s-l-u-t and most of all she's just a commoner"
"If that's what we think, maybe Ms. Rei holds a dark secret of Mrs. Min"
"What do you mean?" But then stop because they notice the kids standing and said something to Mrs. Min while bowing their heads.
"What the heck? Are they an idiot? How come they just bow their heads like an idiot?"
"So the s-l-u-t is an idiot one and her kids also an idiot one"
------- Back to Rei and the kids --------
"Kids next time just say thanks without doing any gesture, okay?"
"Yes Auntie and sorry"
"No need and don't be sorry kids you did nothing wrong. It just Auntie and your parents forgot to remind you about it"
"It's alright Rei but these kids are really just like you and they've been raised very well huh."
"Yeah and it's because their parents are strict to them"
"Good, good, geez these kids are more educated compared to others huh" referring to her juniors who always insult Rei because of Jealousy.
Rei ignored the later part since she knows who she's talking about and just said to her "Mrs. Min if you don't mind they're still not studying at the moment"
"Eh, what do you mean, Rei?"
"What I mean Mrs. Min, my nephews are just turning 3 years old this month and my nieces will be 2 years old next month."
"W----- what? (Cough -- cough)" got choke then Rei give her water then touch her back and slowly tapping it.
"Sorry to surprise you, Mrs. Min"
"So you're not kidding and just telling me the truth?"
"Yes, Mrs. Min and it's the truth"
"How come these kids are too tall compared to their young age then?"
"Well both of them have a tall father after all, so they got it from their father genes"
"Well, well for sure they will be popular when they start studying." Then whispering to her "by the way I just notice they're not chatting to us, are all of them got shy because of me?"
"Yes they are all shy but since adults are talking they didn't dare to interrupt us because it's rude to do so"
"Oh, so that's why" then whisper to Rei again "can you ask them something so that they will talk?" Rei nodded.
"Okay. Kids, Auntie wondering if it's a bad idea to bring you here in the workplace"
"Eh, what's wrong Auntie?" sad look while asking her.
"No, no that's not what Auntie means, you know Auntie love all of you, so it's hurt seeing you sleep in a bad and uncomfortable position like what you did awhile ago"
"It's alright Auntie, as long as you're with us it's okay for us"
"Rei, Rei why not let them sleep on the sofa?"
"I don't want to let my eyes out away from them"
"Then how about under your desk since it's big enough to their height"
"Ah, that's right Mrs. Min, and thanks for that"
"You're welcome Rei"
"Uhm, Auntie?"
"Yes, what is it, Ken?"
By looking at the cafeteria clock, he notices the time and reminds his Auntie to avoid being late, and also to avoid getting insulted by those fellow co-workers of his Auntie "it's quarter to 1 pm and you're still not done with your lunch"
"Ah, that's right thanks Ken"
"You're welcome Auntie"
'A boy who's 3 years old is already conscious of being late, how much more if he reaches the right age? He, he, this little boy will become more strict compared to me'. Mrs. Min thought.
