Stormy Night

It was a dark and stormy night, and Emily was walking home from a late shift at work. As she made her way down the deserted street, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around but saw no one. Brushing it off as her imagination, she continued walking.

Suddenly, she heard the footsteps again, louder this time. She turned around once more, but again, no one was there. Her heart racing, she quickened her pace. The footsteps grew faster, and she could hear heavy breathing behind her.

Panicked, Emily began to run. She could hear the footsteps getting closer and closer. Just as she reached her front door, a hand grabbed her shoulder, causing her to scream.

But it wasn't a stranger. It was her friend, Sarah, who had been trying to catch up with her. Emily breathed a sigh of relief and tried to calm down.

As they entered the house, Emily noticed something strange. The furniture was all rearranged, and there were strange symbols drawn on the walls. Suddenly, she heard a whisper in her ear, and an icy chill ran down her spine.

She turned around, but no one was there. The whispers grew louder, and the symbols on the walls began to glow. Suddenly, the room was filled with a deep, menacing laughter.

Emily and Sarah ran for the door, but it wouldn't budge. They were trapped. The laughter grew louder and louder until it was deafening. Then, just as suddenly as it had begun, it stopped.

The symbols on the walls faded, and the furniture was back in its original place. Emily and Sarah looked at each other in disbelief. Had it all been a hallucination? A nightmare?

They never spoke of what happened that night, but Emily could never shake the feeling that something was off in that house. She never walked home alone again, and she never forgot the horrors of that stormy night.
