[Assimilation] was a skill that allowed Aoki Kaito to 'assimilate' souls. It gave him the option to strip one of two options: either the skills, or status value. If he chooses the skills, he would acquire said skill and by random chance, that skill would be equal or lower than the rank which the soul he had assimilated possessed.

As for the status value, he could pick one from among the 7 status values-- excluding LUK-- to add to his own. However, he could only assimilate 10 percent of the original value.

With that explanation out of the way, let's turn to Kaito's current situation.

On a large gaudy bed adorned with curtains and beautiful wooden motifs-- he laid flat, staring up at the canopy ceiling of the bed-- or that was what it looked like. He was in actuality, looking at his status. It had grown significantly in comparison to the beginning when he had just entered the dungeon.

He focused his eyes on a particular point.

[Nine's Blessing]

The girl that saved them was Nine. Nine Quaint.

Kaito wondered how she came to be, and how she appeared from nowhere and saved them. Who was this person? How was she able to grant a divine blessing? And what role does she play in the whole scale of things? Was she related to sensei? What was that ability of hers? What if she was the key to this whole situation? If she was that powerful, how could the humans have lost during his first life..

And the most pressing question of them all.

Was she a Goddess?

Kaito had once heard of the 13th goddess-- the most mysterious amongst them-- The Goddess of Comfort, whose name remained unknown. To add to his suspicion, Nine wasn't a typical name for a person born in this world.

Were the two related? What if she was Goddess of Comfort? What if the reason her existence remained such a mystery was because she had been hiding herself? Hiding herself in the mortal world? What if..

Knock.

The distance from where he was to the door was a good 10 seconds.

Knock.

The second knock was softer.

Kaito, placed his feet on the soft red rug. His instincts told him that the other party behind the door meant no harm.

He turned the knob and pulled the door open.

"Aoki-sama."

"K-Kaito.. kun.."

"What is it?"

It was Her Highness Alytia and Takata Sayu.

"I came to once again to express my thanks for what you have done to save my life," Her Highness Alytia knelt.

"M-Me too.. thank you for saving my life.. Kaito," Sayu said bashfully, looking at him with upturned eyes.

Both of them were wearing nightgowns of different designs. Sayu was wearing a silky white one piece, affixed by a center knot between both clavicles. The tightness of the design emphasised her breasts. A small ribbon tied to the side of her short hair.

On the other hand, Alytia wore a black nightgown, the two laces over her shoulder held the long semi-translucent piece of cloth on her. You could see the silhouette of the undergarments.

Kaito took a few steps back, closed the door with a creak, and pressed his back against the door.

What did he just witness? If a pair of girls were to enter his room dressed up in that manner.. what other meaning could it have?

Kaito closed his eyes, took in a deep breath before once again pulled the door open.

The scene was the same two beautiful girls. Kaito closed the door again.

He closed his eyes and prayed, repeating the process a few times. Similar to how one would repeat the process of heating, cooling, weighing and reheating of a magnesium ribbon to confirm the complete combustion of the metal.

Kaito wasn't just seeing things, those two girls were actually in front of his room-- now showing him expressions of concern.

"W-What is it?" realizing how futile his attempts were, Kaito asked.

"Are you alright?"

"Do you perhaps need some space for yourself.."

"Please come in, I'm fine!" Kaito threw the door wide open and like a butler, gestured them in.

"You're not fine at all Kaito-kun.."

"Ahem.. Sayu-chan," Alyita tapped on her shoulders.

"R-Right.." she lowered her head and entered.

Now in this room were a pair of beautiful girls and a lone man, the three of them sitting on the bed, Kaito in between the two.

A threesome could happen-- was Kaito deduced. He had to avoid this at all costs.

"Kaito-kun. I wasn't lying w-when I said I-I.. I loved you okay.. " Sayu's puerile voice broke the silence. She stared right up at Kaito, meeting his gaze.

"I-I see.. so it isn't just the suspension bridge effect?"

Sayu's shoulders dropped in disappointment.

"Does that mean.. you don't.."

"I don't mean that.. just that.. someone like me.. to have a girlfriend at this sort of time.."

It was cliche--

"Is it normal for such occurrences to happen. It symbolizes the accomplishment of the hero, his worth and value. If you paid attention to the details outlined in the history lecture, it is those that garner the favor of women that.."

"LALALALALALALALALALALALALA.. What did you say? I didn't catch that. LALALALALALA," Kaito plugged both his ears with his fingers and repeated the chant. He heard nothing, absolutely NOTHING.

His chanting stopped at the heartbreaking sight of Sayu's tears.

"That is the truth.. Aoki-sama.."

"Kaito-kun.."

"I-I love you too.."

"R-really?"

Kaito nodded.

"T-Then how about Alytia.."

Kaito turned to Her Highness.

"I will do my best to gain your favor, so.." Alytia's hands were clasped together, fidgeting.

"Is this really happening right now? Your Highness you said you liked.. mff?!"

Kaito's mind went black. Alytia pulled back and removed her hand.

"Don't reject me just yet," Alytia jerked her head away, causing her loose hair to sway. Her ears were red.

"You.."

Kaito's eyes flinched-- she just kissed him. That ridiculous drama-like kiss where a hand is placed between the lips.

"I don't mind sharing.. after all.." Sayu said in a lisp.

"Haahh.. this is crazy. Absolutely crazy. What scary world is this.." Kaito fell backwards and felt the cushion of the bed on his back.

"Sayu-chan."

"Alytia-chan."

The two nodded in tacit understanding--

And held Kaito down.

"OI?! WHAT ARE YOU TWO.. SOMEONE HELP! SAVE ME! SAVE MFF…"
