Andreas's POV

"You two were lovers?"

Isabella's question confirmed her claims about her abilities to see into people's memories. Memories of my past life were buried in deep in my mind and I was not sure what Isabella had seen but I felt the need to explain myself.

"Sage is... She was not... I mean... Oh, good grief!" I groaned. I didn't understand why I was stumbling over my words, neither could I wrap my head around why I had to explain an entanglement from the past. I was unable to make an incoherent sentence and Isabella just stared at me.

"It wouldn't have mattered if Sage didn't exist anymore" She said as she crossed her arms over her chest. "Now that I know the kind relationship you two shared, I finally understand why her words were laced with bitterness and longing."

"Look, I didn't love her, okay?" I explained. "And this was me from a past life. I cannot make excuses for what I did in a past life."
