Isabella's POV

Absence truly makes the heart grow fonder. I had never been one to dwell on someone's absence in my life because, frankly, no one had ever come close enough to make me care. The only exception was my father, whose absence had shattered me to the point of tears. But now, he was gone, and I thought no one else could matter so much. Yet, here I was, making impulsive decisions driven by my worry for Drey.

Was it just worry or the fear of losing him completely that pushed me to these lengths? Finding him had become my sole mission all morning. I was behaving obsessively, doing things I wouldn't consider on a normal day. First, I decided to pay a visit to Alpha Phillip, and now, I found myself back in the forest where the cursed wolf lurked. All of this in pursuit of a man whose absence had robbed me of sleep.
