Isabella's POV

"The house owner is my brother."

Even after Alpha Phillip left, those words resonated in my mind for a while and as I slowly put the pieces together, I realized that they all fit. Though Drey and Phillip bore no facial resemblance, I still believed that they were brothers because the alpha had no reason to lie.

No wonder, I thought. No wonder Drey carried himself around so majestically. No wonder he lived in such a mansion. No wonder those soldiers retreated that day...

What I couldn't wrap my head around was why Drey decided to live alone. It would have been easier for him to stay in town or better still, with his brother at his residence. Why here? And why did it seem like Phillip was trying to pass a dreadful message across?
