On the edge of life and death

"Dad, when are going play with us?" I asked him as I tilted my head.

"No now. I'm in the middle of something very important. This could be the big breakthrough for my team!" He talked excitedly.

"Awww, why do you always work??" I asked out of curiosity.

"It's because I have to." He answered.

Ever since I was little. I never got any affection from my father. He was always working on his "very important" project. One day he just disappeared and mom said that he died in a car accident, of course I don't believe her. Why would my dad die when he had something important to finish?

"Se-Ri...you...believe...don't trust....get...from here....please..."

I opened my right eye, adjusting it to the bright light that illuminated the unfamiliar room which I was in. I noticed Jungkook was sleeping next to me.

Cute...

I tried lifting my hand, but I couldn't move an inch.

That's when the pain hit me, and hard. It was unbearable. Didn't they give me any painkillers??? It hurts like hell!!

"Ugh..." I frowned, waking up the sleepy Jungkook.

He looked tired. He's probably been really worried about me. Maybe he's been awake the whole time, but passed out, out of tiredness.

"Se-Ri! Are you okay?!" He worried.

"I- I think I am. At least right now..." I smiled.

"Thank god you're okay..." He sighted.

I was a little puzzled why my brother wasn't in the same room. Maybe he's busy or something.

"Have you seen Namjoon?" I asked.

"Yeah, he went home because his mother was worried sick about him." He answered.

"Ah, right, of course she would be worried about him." I frowned.

"Se-Ri... you're not in any pain, are you?" He worried.

"...It hurts..." I complained.

"Aish, I knew it." He sighted "I'll get the doctor, you wait here."

"Jung-"

"Hmm?" He hummed in response.

"N- nothing, forget it..." I blushed.

He stared at me with his big brown eyes. He was surprised, but left after staring for a little.

"Haaa... that was awkward..." I sighted

Time Skip

The door opened again and it was Jungkook with a doctor.

"I heard you were in pain?" She asked.

"Yeah, my chest hurts like hell- ahhh sorry..." I laughed awkwardly.

"Alrigh, I'll give you some medicine, but you'll feel a little dizzy after this so you should take a nap." She informed me while giving me a big smile.

Jeez... you don't need to try so hard...

"Okay, thank you." I smiled in response.

After she gave me the medicine, she left me and Jungkook in the room alone. I started to feel a little dizzy, but I ignored it for now.

"Jungkook, do you know where my brother is?" I asked with a worried tone.

"No? Why?" He tilted his head a little.

"It's just, weird because he would usually hear about things like these..." I sighted.

Suddenly, my phone rang.

"Kang-Dae? Where are you?" I shouted.

"She's gone... mom... she's gone..."
